After a woman is attacked in her apartment, she begins reliving the traumatic event in her dreams night after night. She seeks help at a sleep disorder research center, with some unexpected, and horrific, results. This pulse-pounding psychological thriller stars Emmy Award-winner Kristy McNichol ("Only When I Laugh," TV's "Empty Nest"), Paul Shenar ("Scarface," "The Big Blue"), Ben Masters ("All the Jazz," "Making Mr. Right") and Jon Polito ("Flags of Our Fathers," "Miller's Crossing"). Directed by Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominee Alan J. Pakula ("The Pelican Brief," "All the President's Men").

Great movie if you're obsessed with Kisty McNich8l.
In her previous 2 movies (and this one), Kristy is topless. In this one, she ups the game and displays her gynecology-detailed vay-jay through her thin panties over and over in the repeat kitchen murder dream sequences.Other than that, the pointless, weird AF plot makes it enjoyable only for male Kristy fans to yank off to.-- Luxine Turner

Great thriller movie.
Huge Kristy McNichol fan. So when I was able to find this movie it was a must have to add to my collection. Great suspense thriller movie. Highly recommend this movie to all The Kristy fans out there.

Shaky science
Disc itself of decent quality. Engaging characters through the first half of the movie but then it seemed like an attempt was being made to stretch the story out to meet a contractually required minimum running time and things became repetitious, contrived and dull. At least, Anthony Perkins didn't show up at the end dressed up as an old woman in a rocking chair...or did he?

Dated but good
Although younger folks might find this last-generation gem a little faded in its habits and customs, it's still a good watchand one of the few films I tend to repeat. I think it's appeal comes from a sleep study that gets practical use but with foreshadowed consequences.

Over looked and underated gem.
This movie deals with the very real issue of what happens to a person who has had to kill in self defense(especially when it is not clear that it was necessary.) Kristy McNichol's performance in this film is very moving, and easily one of her best. The film is a little difficult to follow at certain times and is definitely out of the box in some ways but is certainly worth watching, and a staple for any Kristy McNichol fan.

Not the Dream Lover movie I thought
I rented this movie thinking it was the Dream Lover movie with James Spader a d Madchen AmickBecause when I clicked on it it showed a picture of them. This needed up being a totally different movie and I realized it 5 minutes into watching it, so I never finished watching it.

Dream Lover
Enjoyed the movie Dream Lover. It was very suspensful. I didn't know what to expect next. I know one thing, they don't make good movies like this anymore.
