Amazing Sequel
Yes, the first movie was great, one of my favorites of all-time in fact. But it had it's flaws as many films do, and this one is no different. Despite that, I truly feel like this movie is just as good as the first one.Read on for a full, spoiler-free review.Plot)) Very straightforward storyline here, but the setting and the execution doesn't make it boring at all. It is meant for family, so don't expect a complicated plot. I thought there was enough to make it interesting, I definitely wanted to see the where it would lead, but I do wish there'd been more substance in some aspects (a product of its time).Comedic Timing)) To me, this movie had far better humor overall than the first one, but I do miss the quippy, sarcastic remarks of the first movie--this one had a lot of witty one-liners, but it wasn't the same. You could chalk it up to a more mature character. Not bad, just different.Action)) I loved the action in this movie, it wasn't overdone. Each scene lent itself to the plot, none of it was just to have something exciting. I also loved loved loved that Elena (Catherine Zeta-Jones) had more involvement and her own action to deal with. Of course, I loved the boy who played Elena and Alejandro's son as well!Overall, not a bad film to watch with the family. Highly recommend!
