The Man in the Iron Mask

Great movie with good storyline, star studded cast that works well eachother with a good score.

I have watched this since the late 90's and never grow tired of this classic movie. The renowned Musketeers reunite for one last epic battle. They are played by Gabriel Byrne, John Malkovich, Jeremy Irons & Gerard Depardieu who are at their finest, nobelist & best acting. Leonardo DiCaprio is excellent playing King Louis XIV, an arrogant, vile, egoist who rules France while his twin brother was locked up in a horrible prison as a child and forced to wear an iron mask so no one can recognize him or allow him to be a royal. This story is riveting to the end that you don't expect. GREAT MOVIE! DVD arrived on time and played perfectly.

This movie was recommended by my beloved girlfriend who I love dearly. She told me about it but said nothing about the ending. My Paloma was right! Excellent movie. I’ve watched it many times over.

It was a clean movie, without all the F bombs and profanity in todays cinema. That was refreshing. The story is memorable and compelling and hanky worthy at the end. There is no better story than a musketeer story. It embodies all that is good; courage, loyalty, faithfulness, brotherhood, talent, justice and more. We need more movies like that these days.

'The Man In The Iron Mask' was released about a month after the global box office and Academy Award winning 'Titanic' in the middle of Leo Mania. In fact the weekend of it's release, 'The Man In The Iron Mask' and 'Titanic' tied each other for the #1 spot in the North American box office, giving Leonardo DiCaprio the two biggest movies in America. And although "The Man In The Iron Mask' made over $180 million dollars at the worldwide box office, it was overshadowed by the once in a lifetime experience that was 'Titanic'. Now 'The Man In The Iron Mask' is not as great and classic of a film as 'Titanic' but it is still a great and fun movie. It has an outstanding cast with Oscar winners DiCaprio and Jeremy Irons along with great performances from John Malkovich, Gérard Depardieu, and Gabriel Byrne. DiCaprio does a great job playing duel roles as the evil King Louis XIV and his good twin brother who has been hidden in the mask. As The Musketeers attempt to replace King Louis XIV with his twin: action, adventure, humor, and great drama ensue. Overall great acting, great costumes, great set designs, and a whole lot of fun lead to a wonderful film that can be watched over and over. All for one and one for all.

Great actors and so many good ones . Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich , Gabriel Byrne , just to name a few . Underrated in my opinion
