Martin Furniture Lateral File, White

You hear horror stories but this file arrived completely undamaged. It's a great cabinet. Looks great, has drawer interlocks for safety, and matches a desk we already had perfectly. Well built. All we had to do was put the legs on, a very easy process. Quite happy with the file cabinet as well as the delivery folks.

Excellent, sturdy piece of furniture. Arrived completely intact, very well packed. It is just what I needed, very ice looking and we'll built. Extremely good value! And no assembly required, just had to put on feet! I highly recommend this product.

This is a beautiful piece of furniture, but I would not buy it again. I purchased it for my office where I need locking file cabinet and selected this one because it had two locking file drawers. About 6 months after it's arrival, one if the drawers would no longer lock. Upon further examination, it appears as if the locking mechanism has just been sheared off on the inside of the drawer. Additionally, the top drawer will not stay closed, and just randomly rolls open.Amazon won't do anything about it because it had to have been returned within 30 days, and they suggested I contact the manufacturer, which I have done both via email through their website and have left voicemail messages, but have not heard back from them. It touts a 5 year manufacturer's warranty, but I've yet to hear back from them, despite attempts to contact them.It's really disappointing, but I wouldn't recommend it. When you pay this much for a file cabinet / piece of furniture, it should last more than a few months.

This is a beautiful piece of furniture. There is no assembly necessary. I can't say enough about the quality and beauty of this piece. My only disappointment was with Martin Furniture themselves. After we had the furniture about 2 weeks, I decided to try the locking mechanism and found out that the lock doesn't work. I called Martin and the very uninterested girl (she was terrible) said she would send me a lock to replace the lock we currently have. It would be up to us to do all of the work to take the file apart and replace the lock. Looks to be a tough job. For the price of this file (over $800) I think that there should have been some offer to send someone out to do this work.So I'm telling everyone to beware if you buy furniture from Amazon from this company - you are basically on your own!!

Quality seemed ok. Biggest issue is the color specifies as white...it is not white. At best its a darker form of antique white, but even darker with almost a slight olive tint. If you want a white or eve a slight white-washed look, you can expect to paint it yourself.

When the pandemic started, we created a home office for my wife. She picked the Martin Furniture Hartford L-shaped desk. As the year progressed, we added the upright Hartford bookcase. Finally she decided she wanted the filing cabinet. All of these items have been difficult to source this year. None of the Google shopping results looked reputable, so we were thrilled to find this filing cabinet on Amazon. The price was well under what we saw elsewhere and we could get a scheduled Prime delivery for an additional fee. So the ordering process was great. However, delivery was awful. A third party carrier refused to believe me when I told them we have "room of choice" purchased, even after showing them the invoice and receipt because "Amazon deliveries don't include inside placement." Eventually it was put in the room I requested. I get where he was coming from, but when you pay for an additional delivery placement, it needs to be accepted when documentation is presented.The filing cabinet itself is great. It matches the rest of her white and gray-ish Hartford collection items. We had to forcefully remove (read: rip out) the top drawer's filing folder rod hangers because she didn't need two full filing cabinet drawers. The upper one is now just for storage or office items and 3d printing supplies. The cabinet is heavy and sturdy, so we use it as the base for my wife's 3d printer. It doesn't wobble or budge, so that's a win!

This is a beautiful piece of furniture. The Amazon delivery guys were great! Super nice and polite. The only issue I had was my own fault. After getting the feet put on I tried to stand this up on my own and I ended up breaking one of the feet off. So, always have someone help you stand this filing cabinet upright. Nice and heavy. Drawers glide nice and even. No issues at all other then what I caused myself. I would order again.
