I Screwed Up the First Pop, But the Second Time Was Perfect
After buying popcorn at the grocery store and finding it soggy and small, I was looking forward to getting larger and crisp kernels to use with caramel and cheese flavorings. I made a batch tonight and found the kernels to be smaller and less crisp than the store-bought. I didn't look at the ratings. Had I done so, I would not have ordered this product. I hope this helps someone.I posted the above. Then this. The first pop (above) was probably my fault as I popped it in a wok pan with a narrow bottom. Tonight, I popped it in a regular pot and the corn came out tasty and crisp. I recommend this brand.

Arrived with broken seal; popcorn is stale and inedible.
This container should arrive sealed. Mine arrived with a BROKEN SEAL, which, at the very least, dried out the popcorn kernels. I tried a batch, anyway, and it did not pop in the mushroom shape. More importantly, ALL OF IT WAS STALE and very hard to chew since the stale popcorn kernels could not fully pop. This was very expensive popcorn and incredibly disappointing. My batch is not edible and will need to be discarded. You cannot return this product as it is perishable.

Pretty good
My batch so far didn't mushroom and was very hard. Maybe I didn't pop it right or not good to pop in a pot. I'll need to try again.

The kernels look neat but are not good to eat
The kernels pop nice and big, but they are dense and hard to eat. They also didn’t do well in our air popper because they are so heavy - they didn’t want to come out and overheated our popper. There were also a lot of unpopped kernels and hard spots in the kernels that pop. I was afraid of breaking a tooth and couldn’t eat a small bowl. I don’t think we will pop them again. Quite overpriced for what we got.

Way to many Kernels
Movie night was ruined by this popcorn, to many kernels that just wouldn't cooperate. The popping process was like a warzone, with far too many unpopped kernels remaining stubbornly un-puffed. This resulted in a disappointing bowl of mostly hulls, leaving me feeling cheated out of a satisfying snack. If you're looking for a popcorn that pops consistently and delivers fluffy, delicious clouds of goodness, this brand is a hard pass.

Review are wildly subjective...
I was looking for a mushroom popcorn to use in homemade 'Moose Munch' and took a chance on Princeton Popcorn brand.Pros: tastes great plain, most of the kernels popped up as mushroom, very few unpopped kernels remained, worked well for 'Moose Munch' caramel coating, non-GMO (for those worried about genetically modified foods)Cons: cost is over the top, packaging is plastic, product is not grown organically.Comments: I saw that one commenter had a live bug in a sealed container and others had pieces of debris. While no one likes to see live bugs or debris in their food, a reasonable person understands that any unprocessed plant-based food is prone to this. I was actually happy to see this 'live bug' in a sealed container. Made me think that maybe pesticides are used with a light hand? While product is really pricey, no one forced me to buy it and I was happy to support a US based farm. Mushroom popcorn pops up large and so even though the purchased container was small, I will get MANY large batches of 'Moose Munch out of it, and probably a bad case of type 2 diabetes. I would have preferred a more biofriendly container, but at least there was no empty space to give the appearance of more product than you are actually getting. I recently purchased a container of anti-perspirant that has about 1-inch of actual product and 2-inches of empty plastic. Come on Procter & Gamble! Gluten-free is a moot point and not special to Princeton Popcorn. All plain popcorn is Gluten-free. Get your dental floss ready, 'cause this popcorn is loaded with husks. This is to be expected with any large kernel popcorn. Think of it as more fiber in your diet. Fresh vs. stale, hmmm. A freshly popped batch tasted great and that's before the caramel, chocolate, and nuts were added! Mushroom popcorn is NOT a tender popcorn because of it's size and density which makes it perfect for heavy coatings like caramel. People may be unfairly thinking that it is stale when it is not. That tough chew and nutty taste is characteristic of the variety. If you want a tender 'fresh' tasting popcorn, stick to the smaller hull-less varieties. Princeton Popcorn, All plain popcorn is gluten-free, so stop making it sound like yours is special. And 'Farm Grown'? Vs what, your backyard? I used a reliable hot-air popper and highly recommend heating it up for a good 2-3 minutes before adding the kernels. I added a little less than a half cup per batch and it was perfect with absolutely no burnt kernels. PP, Please print a weight on your product label. Ultimately, I would probably purchase this product again, but I think my 32 ounce container will last awhile.

I bet your kids wont like either!
I've gotten bad popcorn before but, this Mushroom Popcorn is the most awful popcorn that's been created. I popped it in an electric popper & it came out terrible, then tried it in my stove top popper. It came out the same. Tried in my microwave. burned before half popped. It pops with triple winged husks stuck on the bottom. If you don't pick them off, they stick to the back of your tongue. they should pop about 3/4in diameter, most come out about the size of a boys marble. I have had mushroom popcorn in Oregon and it was great. This may be really old, what ever it is I'll never, ever, buy this again. I figure the squirrels want ever eat it. Just wish I could give a picture of it. Even picking off the triple hulls before eating it doesn't help.
