A must have for precision repeatability cut
Kit will mount to about any fence out there. Mine is a Deltal with 36 inch Biesemeyer fence. Used a tape from blade to fence, or the tape installed on the fence already. Know it is correct as checked often.Kit looks harder than it is and directions could be better. NOTE: before you start install get out you saw maker book and go thru all the set up from miter slot to blade!! This and slot to fence are THE most important first steps to do. Face it saw time up is imperative to any saw! Spend the time and set it up right by your MFG settings. Now get out you new gauge. Fits square, round fences. Choose yours and follow the included directions and adjustments.Guess anyone that’s into woodworking gets to the point where digital readout are a must have, tapes just don’t cut it anymore. You can’t beat this easy to install game changer readout system. Worked on either side of the fence. Just move it over to the other side and zero it in. Move it back and your ready. 1/2 way into a project and need to cut one of the first parts? Easy to set up the cut with this readout. Set it and cut it. As much as I build I no longer use a tape to check the fence. It is that good. Once you set up the system as directed use your tape to check it a few times and before long that will go away. Best readout system for a sea fence out there and well worth the price. Easy to install, just follow the directions! Repeat any cut way as pie. Battery life is great and auto shutoff is great. Once you get use to this readout system you will wondering why you waited so long to install it. I love it and know it is correct everytime. Well worthThe money to loose the tape!!!

Excellent product.
Excellent product. Works as advertised. No problems with loss of calibration. Two minor issues the instructions could be better and it needs a MUCH, MUCH stronger magnet to hold the unit to the fence bracket. Neither of these issues affect the usability of the device. Well worth it.

After reading reviews on this product indicating difficulty with installation and problems with accuracy, I was a little worried that I might have to return it. I have had a Wixey Digital Caliper for several years and I have found it to be very accurate and reliable so I had high hopes for this saw fence digital readout. Recently I had installed a Vega fence on my Sawstop contractor saw with good results although I was not very impressed with the graticule on the fence head. It is located fairly high above the inch scale which leads to inaccuracy causing frequent use of a tape measure to set the saw up for an accurate cut. I was pretty sure the Wixey Saw Fence Digital Readout (WSFDR) would solve the problem and indeed it does. It took me about an hour to install mostly because I have a tendency to work slowly being retired and all. After I got it installed and calibrated, I was delighted to see that it was dead on accurate. I kept checking it against my tape measure and I finally stopped using the tape and trusted the WSFDR. Now, after a month of repeated use, I rely on the WSFDR exclusively and I am very happy with the accuracy and repeatability. I just finished building pull out trays for our kitchen cupboards and each tray is perfectly square. A couple of times I had to go back and rip additional plywood pieces. Setting the WSFDR to the previous setting resulted in pieces that were identical in size to the pieces that I cut originally. Installation was pretty easy. I spent a fair amount of time just staring at the parts and reading the installation instructions several times. I also found a helpful FAQ on Wixey's web site. Doing this allowed me to consider different installation plans. I finally settles on the simplest way utilizing existing hardware and brackets as much as possible. I ended up drilling one hole in what fence head to mount the steel strap the WSFDR magnet sticks to. This is because the head is aluminum. Otherwise, I my case, no other drilling was necessary. As far as value, that is up to you to decide. These tired old eyes really appreciate the accuracy and ease of use. It is faster to view the digital display than to try to line up a thin line over an inch scale then use a steel tape to verify the measurement.
