Great, classic, worth it
Really like these quality carders, worth the $$. Well made, classic and sturdy. Just how I remember seeing these types used as a kid (even though I grew up in Central California USA) by my Mennonite friends and family.I actually appreciated being able to assemble these carders myself, made them seem more custom. I used a brass wood screw the same approx. size and length of the screws provided, just because I had them on hand. Love using, beginners (like me) need to know it takes a little getting used to. Patience:) and it helps to follow the suggestion of using an “extra lanolin” type wool the first few times to help seal and set the raw wood. Good choice for any and all handicrafters getting going with raw wool prep.

Love the carders.
I spin wool, and I love how the carders soften up the fleece and I'm able to spin the softer fleece and its not to rough on my fingers. Ashford carders are the best for me.

Comfortable Hand Carding
These are quite comfortable to use. The curved back sits nicely on the leg. I have been using this for Rambouillet wool, but I’m sure it would work with other fibers as well. The teeth won’t give as painful of a stab as cheaper products.
