Estes Interceptor!
This is a great kit. Had the original small version as a kid and I bought the E version when it first came out. I retired it years ago and gave it to my 3-year old grandson as a hanging model & this “new” one to build another flyer. I’m sure he’ll get a kick seeing one like his actually flying!

A classic model rocket finally re-released
The last time this particular model rocket was available, it was in a stripped-down version. I missed out on the one with the nifty missile pods on the sides. When Estes _finally_ re-released the original version, I snagged one while I had the chance. Highly satisfied to finally have one.Ironically, I built it out as a 1/72-scale (to go with my Zoids :) model rather than a flying rocket. My flying rockets sooner or later crash into something unforgiving and repairs become impossible. This, I wanted to display and play with.

Awesome rocket maybe not for a beginner or maybe it is depends on your skills

Looks Good, Takes Awhile to Build
Took longer than it should have for me to build (90% my fault for second guessing details). Its a little heavy in the back end so I'm going to extend the length, add weight to the cone, and put in a 24mm engine mount with the screw on retainer. Might have to modify the for-show boat tail or toss it. I'd buy it again or design something similar. Good value for the decals, plastic parts, and size. I might scale back the decals - too busy of a layout.

Classic Design from Estes' 70s Days.
Never got this as a teenager in the 70s. Just got back into rocketry and the Interceptor was my first, best choice. Not overly-hard, but requires some patience, especially with the decals. She's a beauty.
