As the title states, I'm a novice. I stopped drawing many years ago and took it back up a year ago because I find it relaxing.As a beginner, I was looking for inexpensive ways to broaden my range of leads without spending a lot of money, and these fit the bill perfectly.I've tried several of these leads, and the hardness specified seems to be accurate. The leads themselves are durable and sharpen well. Blending and shading are effortless, and drawing with them goes smoothly without much effort.For putting together a sketching kit, these are a fantastic choice on a budget.

Great buy and leads arrived with none broken or cracked. (Sometimes hard to do with softer leads). Wish package marking was better though. But good buy and worth it.

Very satisfied with this range of hard to soft leads or light to dark leads! They are very smooth to write/sketch(smoothness is also depended on how smooth the surface being written/sketched on), and the gradations are very distinguishable! All leads are a few hair short of 3-1/2” in length or close to 9 cm. Would highly recommend!

You most certainly get what you pay for and with these CosCosX leads, that case remains true. Sure you get a lot of lead but when all of the leads have just about, if not the same darkness, it sucks. The leads are not consistent in length and some even have dents in them. I could deal with the inconsistencies of the lead's shape and length, had there actually been variation in their tint, grade, or softness. I did some shading with and without blending and they all look relatively the same. So not a happy camper. I purchased a clutch for each and labeled the clutches for each softness only to find that they were all the same. Wheel unfortunate...smh!
