Although I have USA Amazon account, in fact I am a Chinese Registered Nurse in Hong Kong. In my daily work I have to conduct interview with parents having children with special needs. My department give us name tag to put it on uniform. I think it is not enough. So I bought this product. I type my name and rank both English and Chinese in computer. Print it and stick the paper on the wood. Use an engraver pen to follow the strokes to engrave the words on the wood. Then I use different colours of paint marker pens (also bought from Amazon specifying that it can be used on wood surface) to fill in the gap. As you may notice, my engraving skill is far from perfect. I am satisfied with my masterpiece. Now I put it on my desk whenever I conduct interview. Put the Chinese one when meeting local Chinese person, and English for ethnic minorities. So far I have not yet received any compliments from parents. I think it helps me to increase my credibility and to build up rapport and trust. Make me look like a professional.It is the first time I did engravin Up till now the wood are intact without any crack after 1 month. These are great to attach a name plate to or laser a name. They lasered well and looked nice afterwards. Nice weight to them. Not cheapy looking or feeling at all.

Over priced with bad quality.

They had a few small gouges and scratches, but they were on the bottom side, and a minor scratch on the face, but since I was attaching an engraved brass plaque it wasn't a huge deal. Included felt pads to be used as feet which was nice.Worked well for what I was doing, but the quality could have been better.

These are made of nice quality wood but are not well packaged, allowing them to scuff and scrap in the box. One was scratched pretty bad but the marks sanded out easily but left a clearly lighter color which would require restaining or a complete sanding. I did a test engraving on one and it turned out well. I would imagine that you can use any number of methods to personalize them and they will look very nice.
