The instructions admit that if the battery runs low then the unit will disperse the fragrance rapidly (every few minutes). For this reason, I would say that it would be unwise to operate this unit when you are not in the house, or when you are asleep at night, I would imagine the fumes would be unbearable, if not dangerous in an enclosed space, especially if you have any animals in the house. This means you have to take the batteries out because there is not an on/off switch. Strictly speaking the sensor is not a motion sensor, it is a sensor which detects a rapid change in light intensity. So it will trigger when you switch on a light, for example, and it will not operate automatically in dim lighting - you would have to press the manual (boost) button. The fragrance itself is really very good, very effective from even just a short burst. Also the offer price is very good - it certainly would not be worth paying anywhere near the full price for what is a serious design fault.

While the fragrance is pleasant, the item itself is not great. Upon automatic air freshener compression, very little seemed to be sprayed.We then discovered that the compressor doesn’t press down all the way and a lot of the air freshener liquid collects and seeps down the side. Could just be a faulty product, as I’ve seen the this at my friends/ family’s houses and seems to be working fine.

We bought this device to live in and bring linen freshness to our downstairs loo, It does that in spades! Every time it senses an approaching human, it has a quick spray of perfume, then ignores any further visitors for 20 mins, although pushing the button overrides this.

The smell is quite powerful, and easily wipes out the slightly doggy odour caused by one old Labrador. Machine itself is quite small and easily tucked away in a corner.

Arrived quickly and intact, well packaged. Came with batteries and one cartridge.I bought these in addition to 2 i already have. They last about a month. They emit lovely fresh scent, not too overpowering. Look neat and unobtrusive. Would buy again.
