Great product if you shoot panos.
I bought two of these a couple years ago from a different seller and was very happy with them. I wanted to buy a third, but they were no longer available. A few days ago I was shopping for a QR plate when this item appeared in the recommendations. This is even better than the ones I loved before. First, it comes with a QR plate. Second, the first two I purchased leaked lubricant from the rotating joint. It stopped eventually, but was modestly annoying. This one doesn't have that problem. Third, this one costs 50% less than I paid a couple years ago.If you shoot a lot of panos, get one of these and replace the QR clamp on your ball head with it. That's why I have three. Each of my tripods has one of these permanently affixed, and a Desmond 180mm Nodal Slide DNR-180 Dual Dovetail Macro Rail & Clamp Arca Compatible in the bag. I store the nodal distance info for all my lenses in my phone, so I'm always ready to shoot cylindrical panos.Just a warning. If you plan to replace the clamp on your ball head with this, you will probably need to buy a longer screw. This panning head is considerably thicker than a standard QR clamp. For maximum strength I recommend that you get the longest screw that will work. Every ball head I've encountered uses a M6x1 screw to attach the clamp, but you should check yours to be sure. Use something you can find around the house to measure the depth of the socket in your ball head and add 20mm for the pano bracket. Get an M6x1 flat head socket cap screw in the longest length you can find that is shorter. That screw will have the same 4mm hex socket as all your other tripod accessories. Stainless is great, but not necessary. A little bit of oil will keep conventional steel from rusting, even if you shoot in the rain. These screws will be a little pricey if you order on-line due to S&H, but they should be about $0.25 each if you have a good fastener store in your area.

Nice alternative to a leveling base
I've been looking at leveling bases to put under my ballhead as it's sometimes a PITA to get my tripod exactly level. This, instead, can turn your clamp into a panning clamp. The way it comes, you can just clamp this into your existing A/S clamp, use the levels in it to get it level, clamp your camera in and go. If you plan to do this, beware: the plate portion has no pins, so the clamp can slide out if the clamp holding it loosens.Given the price, it's a surprisingly nicely made item no sharp edges, clamp screw works smoothly. Even the plate that comes with it is nicely made. Panning action is plenty smooth, although I'm not putting much stress on it. My longest FF lens is 300mm-variableIt can also replace an A/S clamp. It has an inner thread, with an installed bushing. Bushing has an outer diameter of just under one inch, and an inner thread that's 3/8-16. the top of the bushing (side away from the ballhead, has a countersunk hole, so you can get a longer countersunk-head screw to fit your ballhead (most/all are 6mm). The bottom of that under-1-inch bushing has a rectangular cutout across the hole to accommodate the shape of your ballhead ball stem top.(look carefully at the product pictures). If you have a Bogen or Manfrotto ballhead, you will need an adapter Boss Adapter / Bogen / Manfrotto Tripod Head Female to Male for Clamp Replacement Desmond The screw that comes with this kit will not be long enough to mount this clamp, however.Without the plate, it weighs 227g (male attached plate section still attached). I'd guess it's more like 200g without that section. If you already have a panning balhead, your other option is to mount it upside down. Desmond has a kit to let you do that - which I've never used - for around $10. No point in doing this if your head does not have a separate pan lock.BTW, the example I received did not have any LED lights. Instead, there was a nice little cube-shaped zipper case. Probably nice if you plan to carry this separately. I've already screw-mounted it on my Benro ballhead (fit fine, but I needed a 20mm longer 6mm countersunk screw. Also: countersunk head screws are measured from the end of the screw to the top of the CS head - not end-to-underhead like other types of screws. This might matter if you are ordering screws online.

Supports Sound Dampening BACKDROP
I needed a portable backdrop support for live-streaming and voiceover work. This single support with T-Cross Bar is fantastically portable and just barely wide enough to completely block the background for video live-streaming on YouTube or Facebook etc.I put a heavy plush thick blanket on it and there was no sag on the bars. The clips that are included are cheap and not very useful so I replaced them with stronger all-black clips. If the cross-bar was just 6" longer it would be absolutely perfect!I definitely recommend this system for portable backdrops for headshots OR to support sound dampening material for those critical voice over gigs. Use three of them, one on each side and one behind the narrator and you're in business!
