Worth the Price !
This product is one of those where you learn that "you get what you pay for". Not cheap but well designed, very strong, straightforward installation and top-notch build quality. Reading my last sentence it sounds like I they paid me or are produced by a friend or relative - - - absolutely not true; these simple looking devices are outstanding in accomplishing what they are made to do.The top heavy fence I used them on was redwood and built in 1988 and was ready to fall toward my house during the next significant wind storm. The bottom of almost every post was wet and rotten from the ground down through the original footings. In fact base of 2 or 3 of them was mostly non-existent & miraculously still standing only because of their rotted fellow post on each side.I had purchased the PostUp repair kits before I had shovelved down far enough to see how rotten the post were. My initial reaction was to return the PostUp kits to Amazon, tear down the fence, uproot all the plants, deplete our savings and build a new fence. Lucky for me I decided to call the man who makes the PostUp kit and apologize that I would have to return his product. When I explained the problem he said that is exactly what the PostUp was designed to fix and told me to continue with my fix-it project and give him another call if I had any problems. There were no other problems. It took me less than a day to put in the PostUp kits, and the fence is stronger than it ever was. After seeing my repaired fence, two of my neighbors bought PostUp Kits for their problematic fences.Note: I tried using the Simpson Strong Tie on one post since they were far less expensive but much more work to install, didn't look as good and not nearly as effective.

works well and holds up
Highly recommended for bracing a leaning fence post. (in the pictures the security cam is fisheyed so the upright posts look like they are leaning but they aren't)I purchased one of these 2 years ago for an 8x8 post and it's still doing fine. I had to buy another recently for a leaning 4x4 post (leaning about 20 degrees) and it was relatively easy to drive the postup into the ground with a small 3lb hammer. The postup and dirt had a tiny bit of give so I was able to repeatedly tug the top of the postup from the side to get it to line up better with the fence post before drilling holes and screwing in the bolts. I used tent states and twine to get tension on the fence post and fence sections so that the post sat upright before I put the postup in the ground.(To get the post upright I staked one end of the twine about 10 feet away from the post and then looped the twine once around the top of the fence post and pulled the twine until the fence was more upright, and then looped around the top of the post a few more times to hold the post in place and staked the loose end of twine all the while keeping the twine pulled with tension. I repeated that one more time with another piece of twine to get the post nearly upright before putting the postup in the ground.)I would buy again if needed for another leaning fence post.

expensive but heavy duty and strong
I used several of these to hold up a leaning fence. They worked great and were much easier that replacing the post or installing a sister post. I think they are expensive, but worth it.

Easy to install but not a silver bullet
This was extremely easy and quick to install (<30 mins from opening package to installed), but was not as rock solid as I was hoping. The steel construction is solid, however depending on your soil type you should take care to make sure the soil is compact enough to hold the bracket in palce. After installation (clay soil) it felt solid but after the first big windstorm there was about 1 cm of wobble of the steel bracket at ground level due to soil compaction. A larger surface area near the top of this bracket would help the soil resist this movement, but in lieu of that, installing this with a horizontal 2x4 just below ground level braced against the bracket in the direction of expect force would probably mitigate this.

Nice quality and easy installation
I just installed this post support a few weeks ago, so I can't comment on how it will hold up yet. I originally thought it was priced kind of high, but it turned out to be really sturdy and high quality, so I do believe it will be worth it, especially compared to the alternate cost (and hassle) of tearing out and rebuilding fence panels and posts. And unlike a lot of kits that include hardware, this actually came with nice, long lag bolts that should hold up long term.I bought this to provide extra support to a new privacy fence that runs along a slope. The posts were already set in cement, and the POSTUP design is perfect for bypassing the cement and running into the ground about six or seven inches out. I definitely agree that a sledgehammer is necessary to pound it into the ground without losing alignment with the post. And they do warn to hit directly above the vertical post so you don't bend the horizontal piece. It was a loud project but didn't take more than five minutes to position it into moist ground by myself. Another five to ten minutes and the holes were drilled and the bolts run in. I was afraid it would be an eyesore on my new fence, but it blends right in with the black gate hardware and is flush with the ground and post.I will update once I see how it holds up. If all goes well, I will get more for the remaining posts.

Best solution for post repair
This product was perfect to use and make the 4x4 posts a lot steardier in an hour.

Sturdy and Easy to install.
The postups were easy to install and sturdy. Two of our fence posts had rotted through, and to replace them would have consumed a lot of time and hard labor. The installation of the three postups only took us about one to two hours to install. We plan on purchasing a couple more for reinforcement. Highly recommended. A little pricey but well made and heavy duty.

Not what they used to be
Purchased twice in 3 years. Older model had the triangular braces to prevent bending as you pound them in with a sledge. New ones don't and you can see the problem. Still solid though. Fast cheap solution to save the post.
