Got my clips today, first one I tried broke (see picture). The plastic is very brittle, but the spring is very strong. A recipe for disaster. Unfortunately, I have to keep them because returning them is a pain in the butt. DO NOT BUY, unless you like to add to America’s garbage problem.

Typical chip clip. Haven’t tried them all, but with the first one I tried, the handle cracked off (see pic). They feel a bit flimsy, but it’s a cheap clip used to hold chip bags closed not an artificial heart. I don’t expect any of these to last more than 6-12 months.

These clips seem very sturdy and have a very strong (almost too strong?) spring. Work better than the old "Chip Clip" bag sealer. The material appears to be thicker and I expected them to last a long time. I may NOT be right as the first on the small clips broke just below the rubber grip (see other reviews!) and even using super glue gel product COULD NOT get the plastic to 'weld' together and the clip just broke again after the glue dried. I think the solution would be to make the metal 'spring' have less tension!![Review updated to reflect product reliability, sturdiness (or lack thereof)]

I bought these to clip open plastic bags of chips, pretzels, cereal, etc. The springs are so strong it is uncomfortably hard to open them. And they don't open wide enough to make it easy to clip a bag. Maximum opening is 3/8 inch for the small clips, and 3/4 inch for the large clips. You'd have to fuss to get the bag into the clip. I'm returning these! We have another brand of chip clips that are easier to open, yet hold the bag firmly, and open wide (1 and 1/2 inches at the tips).

Theyre dont have such a strong hold and the opening is narrow.The spring is not that sturdy or stong.You have to push down on the clip in order for it to clamp fully.

These are wonderfully sturdy tight clips that keeps my chips and nosh fresher much longer. I took the plunge to order these after so many years of laughing at this invention. But they do really work well and a great value for the amount of clips I received. I was tired of always finding my favorite chips and cookies stale or soggy after being in my drawers for a while. Keeping them tightly closed really helps. I guess, better late than never!

These things have been around for YEARS And this particular order are the BEST ONES I have owned for certain .... These have good thick plastic and stronger springs / reflexes. .. been using them several month on chips / crisps .... bags of nuts and even bread :) work great :)

The quality of the clip itself seems fine, but my biggest issue (and the reason why I will end up throwing them out), is that they don't clip very firmly at all. With just a slight nudge, the clip will come off. I am going to instead go back to using the metal bull-dog office-type clips, as they seal super tight (I use these clips to seal food).
