no sir, it is difficult with proximity sensor, you can select infrared with specific use of transparent object.

Q: can it sense plastic under buried with soil

Dear sir, It cannot bifurcate between soil and plastic. it will sense both. If color of plastic part is different from Soil color an if plastic part is visible on surface than color mark sensor may help. you can contact me on number 09909903802. Thanks, Rashmi

this is capacitive proximity sensor, and it can detect plastic or paper any object came infort of the sensor, but it cannot bifurcate between paper and plastic. Kindly clarify your exact requirement.
