They don't make them like they used to!
I have had a pair of vulkan knee braces that i have used for playing football fairly regularly for nearly twenty years. Yes 20 years! One of them is still going but the other finally needs replacing. I was aware that the construction of vulkan braces had obviously changed over the years and decided to check out a number of alternatives before choosing. I read the reviews for many comparable supports before deciding to buy two different knee braces including the Vulkan 3071 hinged. My old Vulkan supports (no hinge) were of a very thick construction which gave a fantastic feeling of support but made then warm and a little uncomfortable after prolonged use, especially behind the knees. Other reviewers had mentioned that the construction of the newer braces were less substantial so i decided to get a hinged brace thinking this might compensate for this as well as provide a decent support for knees that are now that much older. The support is actually quite good. I do miss the snug feel of pulling on the old braces and though obviously a hinged brace will feel different to an non-hinged brace i do wonder whether the sizing has changed in some way. The 3071 pulls on snuggly but the straps seem to stretch a lot considering they are new and will no doubt stretch more over time. The hinges do not seem to cause any discomfort as others have reported they do and playing football in them I felt secure and they did the job well. The other brace i bought (not hinged) is comfortable but a little too bulky and restrictive for playing football in. The Vulkan knee braces may still be the best on the market and perhaps in my case i have become a little attached to the older version. I doubt i'll get 20 years out of them. Excellent support and good breathability may just be an either/or? Whatever brace you go for it must fit well so be very careful with the sizing before making a choice.

Old School still works best!
Tried a few and the brand may be a bit old school ........but it works really well keeping the knee moving through a straight line. Rigid enough to give support to stop twisting, flexible enough to run - doesn't give the impression it will slip down leg whilst running - unfortunately too broken at moment to put that bit to test.

The best knee brace there is
I tried lots of other knee braces and what a waste of money they were. This one may be a little more expensive and the Physiotherapist who is treating me following a knee cartilage operation let me borrow one to see how I got on. It worked for me, II did not take long to order one and will certainly need it for some time. I am glad to take it off at the end of the day but it lets me carry on a nearly normal life for the rest of the day which I certainly couldn't do before I bought it.

Happy customer
This is the best knee sort I have used. I got this year's ago when I first injured my knee. I hadnt been able to find thisafter wearing out the old one. So I had used other supports some which were fine but there was always an issue chafing or pinching. But not with this bad boy! And the delivery was awesome alot faster than expected. So one happy customer.

Quality item
Bought this for my partner who has knee problems and needs the extra support at work. Arrived well packaged & was a perfect fit & made of high quality materials. The only inconvenience for him is that you have to pull it up from the foot like a sock rather than his previous ones which wrap around at knee level. Also not sure how you remove the hinges so it can be handwashed? My partner loves it & says it provides him with the high level of support he needs, would highly recommend.

Support.
Good product which does as advertised. Comfortable to wear and does not restrict movement too much and gives confidence when worn.

These are good.
Having had knee problems for years but wanting to remain active I was able to continue jujitsu and judo as well as training. They are lined and this increases the comfort. The supports are strong but light and the straps are elastic Velcro. They easily washed and dry quickly. I would recommend them.
