Oster6811 6-Cup Glass Jar 12-Speed Blender, Brushed Nickel

I have a really old Oster blender that keeps on trucking, but it looks pretty outdated and the sides of the jar are kind of squared, so product tends to stick in the corners..I use it daily to mix up protein shakes, so it sits on my counter top.. I wanted something that would look nicer than the old blender. My old blender has a really heavy base and a light weight plastic jar..This blender is the opposite.. The base is lightweight plastic and the jar is heavy duty glass, which I really like. The jar is also rounded so nothing sticks in the corners... I don't mind the base being light weight.. I haven't noticed any problems with it being that way. It's also kind of rounded on the sides so it makes it easy to wipe clean.. The red is a very deep red, PERFECT! The lid of the jar has a great fit and can be removed and put in place easily..I haven't used it for crushing ice so I don't know how well it works for that, but I use it daily to mix up protein shakes for breakfast... It's very fast and does a great job..Because my old Oster has worked so well for so many years, I am hoping replacing it with a new Oster will give me the same results.. Only time will tell...

While this is no Vitamix or Ninja, this blender is far and away better than the model I replaced and the price was quite reasonable. Besides, unlike the Ninja, the actually has a solid glass jar. The blade is sharp and I love that the mechanism that turns the blade is solid metal. The plastic teeth from my previous blender were quite chewed up by the time the motor finally kicked.The color is fun, but I will say that had I realized the base was thin plastic, I might have paid a little more for the upgraded model. The button that switches between low and high gear came loose in transit. Fortunately, it popped back on with no fuss.

The blender is good quality, and my mom loved it. I recommend it.

While I only purchased this blender a month ago,the the metal to metal design has been around a long time and is proven. I actually replaced an old Avocato Oster (circa 70's) blender that worked fine with a top of the line Kitchenaid three speed that I was finally glad to throw out. I have no axe to grind with Kitchenaid and own other of their products that work fine.I don't care what brand you buy but make sure that both the cup and the gear drive are both made of metal - metal to metal. If either is plastic, you'll be tossing it in five years or less. (Kitchenaid)Performance: tried crushing ice with this on high speed and it worked fabulously. Tried again on the low speed with the same results. Nice smooth ice and no chips.Also just used it to make a fine powder from soda crackers for a meatball recipe. Perfect. Nice soft powder, no chunks of crackers.My only other comment was price. If you do not need the Brushed Nickel, save the money ($20 dollars at least) and buy a colored one.They are identical in operation and function.I've purchased a lot of products from Amazon but not sure this one was the best price. If I had shopped around I could have found this cheaper elsewhere. To me the so called free shipping of $9 was added to the price is all.

I was not home when this blender arrived. My very young daughter called and asked if she could open it and set it up, to which I said, "Yes." She did so and put the original Oster manufacturer's box in the garage. We used it for 2 or 3 weeks and were not satisfied with its performance, just not enough power for our needs, so I decided to return it.When I went and got the box, I found all these cut up pieces of brown cardboard box with Amazon tape on them, along with someone else's Return Authorization Slip in the box. My daughter said it had all been inside the original Oster box with the blender. She is too young to have realized that was not right. We had received someone else's return and they had used the cut up Amazon cardboard box as packing and put their return slip inside. This return was not even opened up and inspected by whomever it was returned to. A new shipping label was just slapped on it and it was sent out to me as new.VERY disappointing and UNACCEPTABLE!

The oster I got for my wedding 25 years ago finally gave up the ghost, and I got this to replace it. These things are tanks. No better blender brand out there.I really love the "new" jar design. The slightly conical bottom seems to pull thick liquids from the top much better (blending the whole mixture, instead of only the stuff near the bottom blade). These days, I use mine mostly for thick fruit smoothies with LOTS of ice. The blender tackles them like a pro, puree'ing frozen and fresh fruit along with the ice, and mixing all evenly throughout.This also is a bit lighter in weight than the old ones, but not so light that it starts dancing across the counter on high-speed.I also highly recommend the glass carafe as opposed to the plastic ones. I wash by hand on a daily basis and throw in dishwasher once a week. The plastic never quite seems clean enough after a hand wash.

I love this blender so much. I drink Herbalife protein shakes every day so having a blender that will chop ice and chop it well makes all the difference. Not all blenders are created equal, not even if they have glass cups and metal blades. Furthermore, more expensive does not equate to a better blender. I had a much pricier Kitchenaid with a glass cup and steel blades but it does a terrible job chopping ice. I end up with soupy shakes and chunks of unchopped ice. This blender chops the ice so nicely and with seemingly little effort. My shakes never tasted better. I totally recommend it.

Me gustó, cumple su objetivo, el motor ( el plástico q lo recubre) es un poco flexible, solo hay q tener cuidado al cambiarlo de lugar.Cumple con las especificaciones mencionadas.

It is totally unacceptable that a product designed for the North American market (120 V) is being sold in India without a very clear callout that extra powering accessories are required.The whole reason I chose to buy this on amazon.in was to avoid this sort of hassle.
