Taiji Yangsheng Zhang: Taiji Stick Qigong (Chinese Health Qigong) Paperback – January 21, 2014

As others have observed, there is no DVD per the online photo. Instead there is a note on the cover directing the reader to online instructions. However there is no online address given anywhere in the book. If I am going to spend time searching online for their instructional materials, I won't need this book. Returning.

For the price I was amazed at the high quality of the DVD and CD that came with the book. The book itself offers clear and precise instructions for the Taiji Stick form. The DVD took me a minute to navigate and figure out how to access the whole form from start to finish. The individual moves are clearly demonstrated on the DVD and video quality is superb. The people performing on the DVD are highly accomplished practitioners and it is fairly easy to follow along if you have any kind of martial art or qigong training. The English spoken on the DVD is clear and easy to understand. I have several Book/DVD combinations from the offered by the Chinese Health Qigong Assoc. and find them all to be off impeccable quality.

I bought this book because it says it provides the taiji stick qigong exercises in the book with "instructional online materials." Yet there is no information on how to access any online materials in this book. I would not have bought this book if I knew there were no accompanying videos as advertised. I have searched the internet but have not found video associated with this book. The book itself is good but again - my intention was to get the book and the videos.

I can't say enough about the Chinese Health QiGong Association's instructional materials - they are the best on the market. I bought everything they've produced and highly recommend them all to qi gong enthusiasts. Most come with a DVD AND a CD along with the book.

This series of books with DVDs are a brilliant resource if you want to learn the Health Qigong forms, this one is no different. A very helpful book and with accompanying DVD if you are hoping to learn the IHQA standardised Taiji Stick form. The book covers all the steps in detail, complete with full technical pointers, common mistakes to watch out for and how to rectify such mistakes. The book is packed with clear information and photos that helps you to preform the set correctly. The DVD reinforces the book and is a great follow along resource helping you to fully learn the form. A very useful accompanying resource to the book, as although the photos and descriptions are great the video shows exactly how to do each movement. The stick form itelf is very interesting because of the stick and you will need to purchase a stick.

Although I expected to receive a DVD and CD with the book these were missing and instead the sticker on the front cover said that it included Online Instructional Materials. However, there was no information on how to access the information online. The booklet contains good instructions and for that reason I gave it 3 stars but it is definitely missing the expected additional information which is a pity as I have bought several other titles from this organisation and have been very impressed by the quality and details given.

Another excellent volume from CHQA. This one has two DVDs one covers the exercises and the other has related material so a good value buy all round.If you want to try the routines out before buying something like a 48" Jo staff, I suggest oiling up a broom handle - not quite as heavy as oak but more true to tradition I would say, especially if you can't find a bamboo staff.

Pleased with book but no promised download Content or dvd. Expensive for just the book

Love this set, I've been working on this set for a while and can definitely feel my spinal alignment is benefiting from it. The book and DVD definitely make it very easy to learn de practice. Would most definitely recommend.
