Really clear readings on the actual thermometer and great to be able to check it from indoors.
THis looks like a substantial thermometer as it's sturdy. We've tried several over the years but this one looks like it's built to last. It's easy to read from the actual thermometer in the water but there's the added benefit of being able to check the temperature from the house. Our pool is about 30-40m from the house and it's picked up the reading comfortably. You need two batteries so have those ready. I do think this looks like it'll be good value for money (and through this seller it was cheaper than some other suppliers) so I'm a happy customer.

Failed after one use
Worked fine for one day. Leaked water into the floating unit and never worked again. This was despite me taking care to make sure the O ring was correctly seated and the screw top was snugly tight ( I had been worried it might leak so had taken care to seal it well) with hindsight I might have added plumbers silicone grease to improve the seal. However, it died after a little water got in. I cannot recommend this device due to its inability to reliably perform in a watery environment

Don't buy
I purchased one of these for my hot-tub. It worked for only about 24 hours. I had followed the instructions and not abused it, e.g. by inserting batteries with wrong polarity. I contacted the seller who offered to send another one. I asked what guarantee came with it. No answer. The second one arrived but failed after about three weeks. I contacted the seller again whose first reply was 'our records show that you signed for two deliveries; please check with your postal service'. Draw your own conclusions. The seller finally offered a refund on condition that I returned the items to China at my own expense. In short, I can't recommend the product; I can't recommend the seller and I wish there was a button to award zero stars. I think that covers it.

Save yourself some £
Disappointing. Worked for a while (few weeks) then disconnected from internal unit. Found it was letting water in. I double checked the seal was ok and that was fine so the water was getting in from the bottom of the sensor. Had intended on returning but didn’t get round to it. Money down the drain.

Good range from pool to receiver.
This is a great pool thermometer with a good range. It easily allows me to see the temperature of our pool from inside the lounge which is some 25m away.The batteries seem to last a good long time as well which is convenient.

Broken within a week
Only had this for a week before it let water in and stopped working. Cheaply made piece of rubbish. The seals are not adequate at all. Avoid buying at all costs!!!
