Organic Appliqué: Creative Hand-Stitching Ideas and Techniques

So sorry I bought this in Kindle. I made a mistake. I wanted a paper book. Kindle does not compare when it comes to looking at design and pattern books. I wish I could return it and get the paper book.

I can look at this book over and over and never get tired of it. I am trying to branch out with using brighter colors and boldly patterned fabrics. The projects and stories in the book are so interesting! Highly recommend this book and artist!!

The quilts as made are too busy for my taste (my eyes like a like a place to rest now and then) but the instructions are clear and the designs are easily adaptable to other fabrics. Good book.

I love this book for its bright & numerous quilt patterns (8 exactly), but most of all this book explains what I feel is the best form of appliqué -needle turn. The book also mentions other types of appliqué.Kathy Doughty, the author, is known for her bold fabric choices in her quilts and the appliqué that enhances her quilt work & she is known for her fabric store in Sydney, Material Obsession .The book shares lots of photos, it is well written & has many how to instructions with photo references, patterns, templates and more. This book is for intermediate level quilters I would say, but a beginner will find that if They follow instructions There won’t be problem. The instructions are very easy to read and easy work from.This book is a must have for any fiber artist/quilt maker/appliqué artist or If you simply need more inspiration choose this book!I loved this book so much I ordered her other books immediately! I will refer to this book over and over, therefore, I am happy to give it 5 stars! I’m happy to add this book to my library! And the photos of the beautiful bright quilts are like a feast for the eyes and you can’t help but be inspired!

I want to make every quilt in this book, but starting with the cover quilt. Instructions are thorough and easy to follow.

Kathy’s Organic Quilting is a feast of knowledge, technique, and inspiration. I couldn’t be more please with the purchase and intend to investigate her other offerings as well.

Not what I was looking for, the hype exceeded the product.

Love her approach and ideas. Not so keen on her reliance on Kaffe Fassett fabrics as I feel it makes for very "similar" looking quilts. However, as an experienced quilt maker I like the planning ideas and methods she uses, one of which is new to me. Learning new methods and a different approach is always good.

Lovely book

This inspirational book gives you everything you need to know to make either one of Kathy’s quilts or even to design your own. Although if you are a total beginner I would still recommend a class but this could be your text book.

I love Kathy Doughty and her work reflects herself, I believe she is a true artist.
