I had a workout room that has 3 light yellow walls and one sky blue accent wall. It's the only room in the house (aside from the kitchen) that doesn't have all neutral walls. Then, I decided to get rid of some gym equipment I wasn't using and keep only the ones I use regularly. This allowed me to use a smaller room for my workout room and transform that room into a beautiful, cheerful guest room. I know this is a kids ensemble but I have some very dark and substantial looking guest bedroom furniture (full-sized sleigh bed with hammered metal banding, huge high boy with sliding barn door and hammered metal accents, and matching, large dresser with mirror). The floors are also wood. So I figured that the bright, cheery colors of the walls and the bright cheery colors of this set would tone down the severity of the room and make it appealing. You know what? It still borders on being too "kiddy" but I am not finished yet! I plan to replace the children's sheets with a more luxe, higher thread count sheet set, add some other adult accents, including an area rug, quilt rack/luggage rack, beautiful lamps, fun throw pillows, etc.). The goal is to raise this room to the level of adult whimsy and get it out of the kindergarten realm. I hope I can pull it off because it really is a darling set and I love it.
