Poly Tarp Swimming Pool Solar Blanket Protective Cover - 20 Feet Wide

We purchased this solar blanket protector to replace a heavy, white tarp that we had been using. Prior to the tarp, our old solar blanket protector was made of some cheap material that didn't even last one season. Instead of the Velcro strips that come with this protector, we prefer to use bungee cords. We learned that removing the cover was annoying when the Velcro stuck on itself in the wrong places. Velcro also collects dirt and debris, so it becomes worthless within a short period of time. This protector is definitely made of a thicker, more durable material than the el cheapo, but is not bulky and hard to handle like the tarp. We hope to get several seasons of use from this one.

Don't do like I did and be too fast to trim your tarp, or it will end up being too short. I would give it 5 stars, but the 'self-stick' velcro doesn't work worth beans. I've ended up sewing on some velcro to get it to stay, otherwise, the tarp does the job. light enough weight that you're not lugging a huge thing across the yard, but protects the solar cover when it's on the reel.

When I got this, it wasn't what I expected, having owned one before, my remembering something about cotten in the ad. While the material is strong and protects the rolled-up solar blanket from the sun, the last one I owned began to break down into tiny long white strips that came apart the next season, the pool open for only four months. We shall see, since the plastic ones begin to easy rip also after a season. Hope one day a company comes out with a material the sun's rays cannot disintegrate so easily. As an FYI. I store the solar blanket rolled up in a canvas winter protector with zipper, the blanket now going into its third season.

This is a terrible product. I have purchased others that didn't last more than 2 years, but this one tore when I was putting it on. It's just a flimsy sheet of very thin material. it comes with worthless velcro strips.which don't work so I used twine to wrap it around my solar roll. All other items I purchased had zippers which worked well. DON"T BUY IT. Look around for something better.

For ovr 30 years we have used flimsy white plastic covers to put over our solar pool blankets when rolled up. Others only ever lasted one season -- if that long. These covers are used to prevent damage to the solar cover due to UV rays and overheating. This cover is awesome. It is nice and thick and made with ripstop material. I highly recommend it!

if you don't mind paying $20 something dollars for a super thin generic tarp that you have to tape the velcro to it yourself, then yeah buy it...I should have thought about this before but ... it is exactly 20ft long so if your solar cover is 20ft as well, I'd recommend buying a 22ft cover instead. That way you won't have to worry about getting it perfectly enclosed. This would work better for an 18ft solar cover.

Quality tarp, actually wider than needed so I can double it over and provide better protection to the solar cover and reduce the effects of wind on the tarp. Good price, prompt delivery. No complaints!

Good deal. Cut it to size. Velcro helps it stay in place. However, when it gets really hot the glue comes off the velcro.
