Grace (American Girl: Girl of the Year, 1)

I bought several of these American Girl books for my daughter. The highlight of these books have always been the large size of the book and the beautiful illustrations spaced out in the story. Yes, some may say three full colored pictures missing from a book is trivial, but it's what really excited my daughter and helped her get into the story while giving her a visual picture to work from. This book was smaller in size so it also doesn't fit in with my daughter's collection on her bookshelf.I am not going to comment on the actual story because it is written to appeal to children and I accept it as that.

Another great girl of the year! My second grader loves reading American Girl books. This one is a bit harder due to the French words (pronunciations in back of book). Cute story (I read it too) about getting along with others, jealousy, and putting family first. Excited to read the next two books. Only regret is that I didn't buy from Scholastic instead. Books were only $6 thru them and I paid almost retail on Amazon. Plus with Scholastic my kids' school gets to earn points for classroom/library books.

As soon as Grace the doll came out for American girl , I wanted to read this book. I loved it! In this book 9year old Grace goes to Paris with her mom to help her aunt with a new baby. Grace is also excited to see her cousin . But when Grace gets there Grace can hardly communicate with her cousin and wants to go home. But while she`s there Grace has lots of adventures like meeting a stray French bulldog which she ends up taking home and seeing the Eiffel tower in person.

I read Grace because I always like girl of the year books. If you like American girl books than you should read Grace. It's a book that is fun to read (not boring). It's probably for girls from about age 8 and up. Depends on your reading level. Maybe for 7 year olds. I definitely recommend this for American girl fans.

A wonderful story- my daughter and I enjoyed it equally. Grace is a great role model for girls- resilient, entrepreneurial and kind.The descriptions of Paris are beautiful. It inspired my daughter and I to learn to make macarons, and she's asked me to teach her French! One of my favorite AG stories

Daughter said the book was ok but not as good as the older favorites.

I like this book and it was just great and it has inspired me to learn French. It is a very reasonable price for me. I just need the second one in the Grace collection.
