Q: How does this stay on? Is there a band that goes around your head?

There is no band. Add your own band with 1/4 inch elastic or tape this over your eye. I got two and am using them inside an sleep mask I am making to give shape to the fabric so it does not lay against my eyes.

Q: Will this fit under my eyeglasses?

Depends on the style of frame and it’s offset from the face. As a retired eye surgeon I must ask if your wearing prescription glasses why do you need the shield?

Q: Will cloth tape work to keep the shield on while sleeping?

Yes, cloth tape will keep the shield in place. I switched to easy-tear tape because it was less irritating on my son's skin. I found that paper tape did not work. This shield also allows for a thin elastic to be attached through the venting holes so it can be worn without tape.
