I replaced the air filled tire on the rear of Gotrax GXL with this tire. I almost gave up and thought I’d be returning so don’t give up if you’re installing this.What you need and need to know:1. The online videos weren’t helpful and look the installation is easy. Recommend watching but don’t expect you’ll be able to install quickly/effortlessly.2. Get a very good pry bar.I bought one in the photo from a motorcycle shop where I asked for help installing the tire. They couldn’t help me installing but they suggesting this metal pry bar which didn’t damage the rim other than the surface. The length is the key to put your power effectively into the places when you put the tire on the rim. I also bought short plastic ones that I used to remove the flat tire but they didn’t help because the rubber was so stiff.3. Get strong and thick gloves to protect your hands.I hurt my hands (blisters) when I first tried installing without a pry bar. My gloves were okay for most work but weren’t sufficient for this. Even with a good pry bar, I’d suggest having the gloves as well.4. Use the small holes effectively.Once you got the first arc on the rim, you’d want to tie one of the holes on the tire and the spoke. It’d help you stabilize that point and efficiently place your energy into the places you need.Also after you get all the tire on the surface of the rim, the tire may not entire on the center. Put a screw driver in each hole to pull up and balance the location on the surface of the rim.5. Tools are the key not your strength.I’m not a person who works out regularly and even the big guys I met at bicycle shops or motorcycle shops gave up putting on. Once I started using the pry bar to stretch the tire smoothly, I started making progress.6. Extra bonus if you can protect the surface of the rim.I didn’t mind/gave up but if you have a non-metal pry bar that works for you, you may be able to keep your rim clean.7. Heating may help but not required.I heated the tire using the microwave (as instructed in the video) which made the tire soft but not sure how critical that was compared to using the right tools. It’s quite hot and dangerous and make you feel rushed.Finally to the product review...+ Fits perfectly on GOTRAX GXL.+ Smooth ride. Sensed the difference from the original air filled tire but the bumps didn’t bother me.+ Not too heavy. It should be heavier but didn’t affect the top speed so much.+ Peace I’d mind. The fact that I don’t have to worry about flat tires (at least on the rear) is great. My friend and the person from the bicycle shop said it still took a lot of effort to put on air filled tires so it’s good to consider just doing once or twice with this tire and get away from punctures.- Installation... The instructions and videos are quite misleading but I understand that you don’t want to scare people away...

It's like upgrading your car's tires to bigger one's. It's a more sporty feel+ Helpful manufacturer - Kept in touch personally and helped me through the process+ The 25% discount when you buy two is awesome- The only drawback to this entire process was the actual installation of the tires. It is crazy hard to get the tires on. But the manufacturer of the tires personally sent me a video on how to install it and when I finally got it on, it was such a relief and it felt like a massive accomplishment. As I see it, I hopefully just need to do it this one time 🤞

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Love it. Heated up in microwave for 5 mins with a damp paper towel around it. Made it easier to put on rim, but definitely need 2 people to install.

I bought this tire as a solution to the many flat tires I had gotten before and this is one of the best solid tires I've bought. The holes allow for the tire to compress which make the ride smoother than regular solid tires but not as smooth as pneumatic tires. Installation is the hardest part by far. I highly suggest having a bike shop install the tire onto the rim as it can be very difficult. It's very sturdy and I think it will run fine for hundreds of miles. Overall, great price for a great quality product. I would definitely recommend purchasing one if your scooter is prone to flat tires.

This tire will probably last forever! Not super easy to install but I still managed to change the tire myself alone. I think I wont have to do that ever again! Quick delivery and good quality. I am buying one more!!

I saw a guy on youtube used zip ties to keep the wheel hub in place while he installed the tires. I wish I would have thought of that earlier. I didnt test it but he made it seem like a 30 sec process. I struggled a lot to install these tires.Once install your not going to have a problem these things are awesome and have more off road capabilities than the originals. I have only put about 20 miles on them so far but I would expect the motor to give out before these tires do.I honestly love these and make sure you get the Honycombs ones so you can use the holes to pull and easily install the tires.
