Good product once you learn to use it.
The product is good. I'm going to talk about the different aspects of it and my overall experience.I got it as a sample, so I can't comment on the shipping because I actually never ordered it. What I can say is that the packaging is not too appealing. In the end I don't find this as a deal braker since the product once its opened will never go back to its box and hopefully will be a tool of regular use in the kitchen. The product looks and feels solid once you start using it. I'm not a fan of the products color (green), however I'm told that there will be other color options, so, again, no biggie.I tried it with different vegetables, specially "solid" vegetables like carrots, potatoes, radishes and beets, and it worked flawlessly. It takes a little time to get used to keep turning and turning the hand to get the whole vegetable rightfully cut. I'm used to cut everything with knives so I'm new to this, however the end result was really good. It did some fancy cuts effortlessly. One important thing to mention is that it's really safe to use, I was never worried about cutting myself during use.The product is made out of three main pieces, the two extremes help you make different types of cuts. The center piece (the one that spins) comes with some kind of "pointy teeth" that you are supposed to stick into the vegetable. This part holds it tight so once you start turning your hand, the little blades begin to cut. This is the way the product is designed which again, works perfectly for solid vegetables. However I tried it with not so solid fruits like apples, cucumbers and pears. And since I used it exactly the same way I did with the vegetables, at first instead of cutting them, it actually mashed them. I found no practical use for the other side of the center piece. Later on I was told not to stick the not so solid fruits to those "teeth" things but to instead grab the fruit with my hand and spin it directly. It worked better, however I don't think a product like this is supposed to work that way. I'm not convinced here.Once used, it's easy to wash, however I recommend to have good water pressure since some little residues can get caught in the middle of the blades. It comes with a very convenient brush, I just wish it were a little longer, because washing the product from the inside with it can be a hassle if you have big/thick hands. One big problem I found is that it comes with no instructions whatsoever, so you have to figure out on your own how it works. So to summarizePros:1.- Easy to use2.- Fancy cutting effortlessly3.- Easy to wash as long as you have good water pressure4.- Easy to store, you can put it anywhere5.- Solid look and feel6.- Safe to useCons:1.- No instructions2.- Product color and packaging could be better3.- Brush should be longer4.- Not ideal for not so solid fruits/vegetablesSince this is a sample, I'm sure most of the cons I listed here will get improved shortly.---------UPDATE----------I've been using this little thing for more than a year now, and it still works just as new. No signs of wear at all. My Initial review still stands, however I changed my score to four stars because of how durable this thing is.
