DermAllay Ages 5-Adult

I am trying various products to treat molluscum contagiosum (mc) . I am writing a few reviews to help other families make decisions on what they want to try. I decided to try this after reading reviews on amazon, it appears that you need to experiment with different products to find something that seems to cause the mc to react. I tried zymaderm for a month. There were times I thought the zymaderm was working and other times that I wasn't sure. It did irritate the skin a bit. The compound W that you paint on was causing too much pain. (It burned and my kids wouldn't let me apply it i second time.) I tried compound w spots held in place wirh bandaids, however not a great idea for kids who are allergic to latex. So, I had to stop with using the compound W with bandaids. Dermal lay is a bit tedious to apply. It dries fairly quick on the skin. I tried using a disposable glove to apply it to prevent spreading but it was difficult to feel where u need to apply. My son doesn't like that it makes him feel sticky. However, he has been a trooper through the application process. After about 2 weeks I am noticing that several spots are scabbing over (see photo) . I am not sure when to stop using the DermAlly. However, I am optimistic that it is killing some of the MC spots.... But not all of them yet... It does irritate the skin (see photo) , so I try to wipe up any access around the spots to keep the product as close as possible to the spots. This product is more effective on my son than my daughter for some reason. I am not sure why. I will update as I learn more.One HUGE negative is that it appears iodine based. This will stain. It seems to not stain once properly applied and dried..

Didn't work for my daughters mollescum.

I bought Dermallay after using Zymaderm, Benzoyl Peroxide, and cantharidin (Beatle Juice). We used Zymaderm twice a day for 3 weeks with no change, Benzoyl Peroxide dried the skin all around the bumps and left a terrible rash, and the Beatlejuice was the worst, most painful thing My child has ever experienced (terrible, painful blisters that made me cry..especially when she screamed and begged me not to wash the residue off after treatment). We've had great success with Dermallay. We have used it religiously twice a day for 7 weeks and have gone from 50+ bumps to 20. Each week, several will get red, swollen, and sore, and will scab over and disappear. Others have flattened out and gone away completely. I'm going to keep using this with the hope that they'll be gone in time for summer (sleeveless shirts and swimwear). Other than soreness when the bumps start going away, it is completely painless. It takes time to rub it in which is difficult for a young child, but it is part of our routine now.

I purchased this out of desperation. Our poor daughter has been battling molluscum for about a year and we have tried so many different things that haven't work. This stuff was a waste of money. It is an iodine color/consistency and it stains the skin and anything else it touches. Even worse, it made the skin around the bumps very irritated and raw, to the point that it became infected. We are now using a prescription cream to try to clear the skin before we start working on the bumps again. I wish I had never purchased this product!

1st. Went to dermatologist - signed consent as daughter might have a scar and was treated w/ blistering agent. Started w/ two small spots.2 1/2 weeks passed and healing showed signs we would definitely need another treatment. (wait let's try this first!) Don't want to guarantee scarring and poor results! Now had a third tiny spot with no real improvement other than red skin and 3 white infections!Used this almost every day for almost 4-5 weeks twice a day. (tiny amount!)used tea tree oil mixed with colloidal silver about 5 times and two times we used cold sore treatment.After 3 1/2 weeks we could really notice things improving. Kept using this until we kind of forgot to keep doing it. We looked and saw healed skin!

My daughter has had molluscum for 2 years. Weve tried every medication known to man including this. They all did not work until we eventually had to go to the dermatologist for him to use beetle juice on them. Anyway, dont waste your money.

This did not work as advertised. Waste of money. Save yourself time and money and use Apple Cider Vinegar - it's the only thing that has worked for us.

This product was a life saver. My daughter developed MC during a theater production, where she was trying on costumes after another child to, unbeknownst to me, had MC. They quickly aggravated her eczema, and visa versa. After trying a few other products, her MC spread like wildfire, going from a mere 10-20 to 189 (yes I counted). After a few days of using DermAllay, they started to mushroom up, the core came out, scabbed over, and they were gone. Within a month, they were all cleared up and no more were cropping up. As I am coming into a new theater season, I am ordering more just to have on hand. Amazing.
