Great but some concerns
This unit is very impressive. However it is having some trouble charging due to a bad spring on one of the three prongs on the back. Has anyone else had that issue? Im also concerned about the longevity of the batteries....Ive found that the best time to set is around 20min for a floor or carpet that hasnt been vacuumed in a while. The container wont fill up but the slot and the filter will get clogged up with dust bunnies. If you set it for longer, and dont clean it out, the unit will just be dragging around dust bunnies. So set it between 10-20min initially on a first run so you can unclog the slots. Also clean out the brushes. Other than that its great. It may not do the deep cleaning u are used to with your regular vac, but if you set it for daily vacuum you may be able to accomplish similar results or better than a regular vac...Also you do need to watch it the first time in every room so you can see where it runs into trouble. In my case it gets in trouble under some of the toejams since they are not uniformly spaced aparrently. It gets stuck there. Had to place something so that it bounce off with its bumper. In the bedroom it dissappeared under one side of the bed, and wouldnt come out the other side!! Finally it popped out the original side. Funny!Young kids love it and will name it!

So far so good
It just arrived last night! After reading other reviews I was worried it would not work on the carpet, so I tested it out first thing. It worked! It gently bumped into the random furniture and walls. It is very entertaining to watch. My dog did not mind it, but my roommate's dog ran around and barked at it-he is usually upset by vacuums so no shocker there. It sucked up a bunch of dirt and dog hair. When it got low on battery it stopped sucking and started looking around for the charging base. It was very easy to empty the dust and clean the rollers.*update: I gave it to my grandparents for Christmas. They have a long haired dog, and their carpet is a little deeper, with some bunched up areas that make little creases. The vacuum picked up the dog hair. It also got stuck on some of the ridges, and the extra side brush got tangled on the carpeting. Once we took off the side brush (just had to unscrew it and it came off) it worked just fine. It had some trouble lining up with the charging base-possibly because it could not get good traction in the thick carpeting.Overall I am still very pleased with it. I like that it is lightweight so my grandparents do not have to lug a heavy vacuum up from their garage. The only thing I would say is if your carpet is thick the vacuum is probably going to struggle a bit- which is no big deal, just means you have to nudge it with your foot once in a while if it gets stuck. It is much easier than pushing a normal vacuum around an entire house and far more amusing. If your carpet is really deep you may need to check out other options and maybe spend a little more. I meant to measure the depth of carpet shag at my grandparents' house to give a more accurate review, but completely forgot. A non-quantitative rule might be if your feet sink into the carpet at all then this little robot will be up to its elbows (not literally, but I like the image, haha.)

Good purchase for the price.
I purchased this unit after doing done resesrch on the consumer reports suggested best products. I chose it because it was the least expensive of the top units. I didn't want to invest a lot of money if it wasn't going to get the job done.It does a good job getting the floors to be acceptably cleaned throughout the week. I like that I can program it to run while we are away, but I have to do some prep work so that it doesn't get stuck. I've learned to place an object in front of the furniture pieces and appliances that it gets stuck under. I also have to pick up the rugs. Then, I do a thorough cleaning myself on the weekend. One major disappointment is that it doesn't find it's home. When I get home, I have to find it and put it on the charger. I wondered if it is just because the area it covers is quite large. It's not that big of a deal, but it is supposed to find it's home. For me, a rating of three stars means that it basically does what it's supposed to do. I would give it a fourth star for the price, but I would knock it down a star because it doesn't find its home.

YES
I bought this for our HUGE basement because I hate to vacuum there. It works great. They only problem is that the basement is so large it gets lost from its home. I have to shut doors and sometimes move it manually back to its home. I was totally shocked at how much it picks up. I am considering buying another one.

It cleans.....
Well, it does a decent job. However we have to keep correcting its path and it likes to get stuck on rugs or just in corners. Even hit and miss on finding home after we press the home button (even if sitting near it). The only redeaming quality it has is it DOES pick up stuff, we notice because we do have to clean the trap every few days.

Can do better
This thing has a mind of its own. No rhyme or reason to its patterns. It also does not work well on carpet. Leaves big patches of dog hair all over the place. Ok for inbetween sweeps I suppose. Also gets stuck alot and can never find its way back to the home charging base.

Robo vacum
Love this little vacum. At first I did not think it was doing its job. Turns out its does fine for a small apt. or one or two persons. I run it all the time usually once a day. I recommend it for the busy person. Now if they made once with the sucktion power of a dyson it would be awesome.

Can't program, doesn't cover whole room
The product manual was hard to understand. The vacuum never responded to the programming cues--tried to get it to vacuum in straight lines, and it just went wherever Repeatedly got stuck in a corner and keep turning into the wall instead of the other direction. Like for 10 minutes it would try to go the wrong way until I moved it. The vacuum itself worked well on hard floors and on carpet, it just wouldn't cover the whole room and I kept having to redirect it. Returned it.
