I like the book a lot but unfortunately it was a bit jumbled up in its order. The Little Mermaid fairy tale gets interrupted by several pages that should have started the fairy tale section overall, and then the remainder of the Little Mermaid appears after that misplaced portion. Also, some pages are repeated. So it's a little hard to follow at these points. But the wolf descriptions sure made me see what I had been through and why it is so hard to recover after over 20 years with the beast.

Great ideas
I enjoyed the comparison of fairy tales and the drama of an abusive relationship. The idea of seeing my situation from this angle gave me the ability to give deep thought to it without seeing myself as a victim. Instead of continually telling myself to "think positive" and "I'm not a victim" I was enjoying thinking about its details, but in story form, not painful.

Perfect for survivors of narcissistic relationships
If you’re currently in or have survived a narcissists relationship, this boom is for you. I suggest reading it through once then going back and re-reading and doing the exercises. Massive help and will be used as a tool in a future survivor group.

If this is happening to you
Seek help. Do not suffer in silence. I bought this book for some insight to my own personal experience. I found some of the text relate-able while most of it seemed to pertain to her own personal struggle. The exercises were a waste of space in the book.

Liked it...helpful...recommended
One of three instruction manuals and self help pieces that helped me when I had no in person therapist or counselor. Easy to read and sounds authentic not pithy or hysterical but serious in a way a survivor will recognize I want to investigate the author further. I also have made this last as long as I could and read slowly...a subject too scary and common to ignore.(My only criticism was her repetition of fairytale themes and ideas..it seemed they may have been overstressed. I only use or refer to her motif in a few ways...not as wholly as she emphasizes throughout.)I would definitely recommend it if you are searching for a womans personal voice and story about a pervasive social issue
