You put them over your nails on the tips of your fingers so the UV rays don’t yellow your artificial nails when tanning in a tanning bed. They work well & I would recommend them.

They work great for tanning beds. they also work for spray tans. especially with French manicures.

Do they touch the nail surface? I am imagining using them as polish dries, to prevent smudging.

Yes they touch the surface. They are used for tanning; they block UV rays so your nails don't turn yellow. These would definitely smudge wet polish
