Its thicker than an essence..more like a serum. It's very good.

Q: Where does this fit in with serums? I should cleanse, use this cream toner next, and then serums go next?

This is a toner which goes on first after you cleanse.

I wouldn't say it's a tonic, looking at the ingredients I would say it's more of a serum, excellent, thicker gel consistency, absorbs very quickly, doesn't leave a sticky layer, and the skin is like a baby's bottom :) brilliant
