Bad recipes and bad fan service
The recipes are barely even nominally inspired by Harry Potter. It looks like it was the careless work of a single weekend, collecting random recipes and finding the most tenuous connection possible to the stories. I stopped reading after the "cream puff" recipe that was just cream cheese, an egg yolk, and boxed cake mix. What a joke.

Useless recipes and terrible editing
I love all things Harry Potter so I was excited about finding this book. However, as I was scrolling through the pages, many recipes are missing entire sections: some don’t list ingredients needed or amounts while others skip steps in the instructions. These omissions make it impossible to use most of the recipes. Although, with some revisions, it could be a decent collection.

Very nice book
This was a very good book. I liked that before the ingredients that they put a little snippet of what the recipe was based on.I have this rating because it is what I feltAnd I would definitely try the butterbeer, because there are a lot of butterbeer recipes that are not that good, but this one was delicious.

A bit dry, a bit rushed.
Sure it's a recipe book, but it wouldn't have hurt too much to add a little bit of magic to spice up the language in here. Just saying that something was mentioned in the books or the movies doesn't really add much spark to a relatively bland cookbook. It's all text, so there's no clever food photography to tie it in, and in one case, the English toffee, the ingredients were left out completely. It's intended to bring you in by mentioning Harry Potter, but ultimately, it's a lazily put together cookbook.

Looks Fun
My grandkids have been reading the Harry Potter books, as have I, and enjoying the stories. I had to pick up the Harry Potter's Cookbook by Roy Murray because it offers such a unique avenue to bring the Harry Potter world to life for these kids. I've selected the recipes to try, and now we will be planning our first Harry Potter dinner. Can't wait.

Tasty
A series of traditional British foods that are mentioned in the Harry Potter books, along with a couple of not so well known things that seem tasty. Useful for those who wish to have a themed meal.

Fun to try
Not sure how authentic these are. We’ve tried a few and they’ve been good. Always fun to try and my kids get excited about trying them too.

More traditional than expected
This recipe book mostly included underwhelming but classic English recipes with one or two interesting new ideas. Still worth it for fans (and a great resource to entice young chefs into cooking) but those planning a themed party might want to look elsewhere.

I'm not sure how the recipes are connected to Harry Potter
The recipes looks delicious and the pictures of the food looks gorgeous but I'm not sure how it is related to Harry Potter. I think I was hoping it was foods that made to resemble Harry Potter characters.

Disappointed by far
When you see the preview on Amazon, pictures have color but the printed version you get is in black an white on printer paper (the images even have some ink stripes of a bad quality printer). Also, as someone mentioned in another review on page 89 the ingredients are not there.(I'll save you any trouble if you still buy. Here are the ingredients (I took them from a recipes website)):2 cups butter2 cups white sugar¼ teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon vanilla2 cups semisweet chocolate chips1 cup almondsOverall, money not well spent. If you are a die hard fan you can simply make a list of some recipes you're interested on and look them up on YouTube. Or maybe just go with the kindle version (unfortunately I had bought this for a present) so that was not an option for me.
