So much fun!
The manual that came with the product wasn't great so I had to YouTube a video on how to install it but once I watched the video it was easy to install! We absolutely love our trail gator! Makes bike rides so easy and stress free! My 3 year old has a blast and calls it his rollercoaster!

Look no further if you want a POV that is very skewed off center while biking!
Where do you even begin on reviewing this product and the journey it contains. This attachment does nothing it advertises. That is if you can even get it assembled!Despite the size of the instructions, which was that of a small dystopian, teen novel, there was no coherent way to put this thing together. No diagrams or pictures of the various parts, despite the instructions referring to part "Q" etc. These people went the exact opposite way of Ikea and included no visual aids at all; My senior english teacher would have been proud of the author from Trail Gator. After finally finding some help from a YouTube video, it took me about an hour to complete the installation process from start to finish...I don't know if that reflects more poorly on the product, the instructions, or on the user though. After installation, it looked promising. There's a reason why they say "looks can be deceiving though". This thing made my son's bike lean worse than an alcoholic after happy hour during Mardi Gras. I felt more like I had a side car to my right than a child behind me. We tried to adjust various things, but to no use. Since he didn't want to addition for Cirque du Soleil with his stunt riding, we quickly called it a day and headed home.I now am writing this review, absolutely dreading taking this juggernaut back off, only to turn around and reattach a product that is actually useful. I'm at least hopeful that another product won't come with an instruction manual with a foreword by Tolstoy, nor encourage the balance of Charlie Sheen in it's users.Unless you have the balance of a pygmy mountain goat, or unless you are literally, always going to be riding on a steep hill, I wouldn't advise purchasing this product.

Online reviews has me a little hesitant about buying this thing but I liked the idea of it and thought I would give it a try. Reviews are correct about the install. It's not simple and if you have no mechanical skills you might want to take it to someone that does (a local bike shop would love your business). Otherwise you should be fine.Couple things to point out:(1) Directions recommend using a steel seat post. I think that's for obvious reasons. I have high end bikes and the bike I planned on using this with has a carbon post. Luckily I have and old alloy post I put on while using this and I think it should be fine. It's also nice to have this extra post/seat combo so that it allows me to leave the bracket to the one post for when I plan on taking the kid along. It's much easier to swap post vs installing/removing the bracket which would take some time.(2) This bar puts the kids bike on a fairly steep angle. Especially on 12" wheeled bike. But my boy did fine with it.(3) Some reviews point out about the bracket being a problem (slipping and/or scratching the bike). Simple fix. I had an old tire that I cut and put on the kids head tube and wrapped it with electrical tape. Then mounted the bracket. Solves both issues assuming you install the nuts with adequate torque. I could believe that if you using on rugged terrain it might slip under some cases. But IMO this is not designed for rugged off road use. I saw where some people recommended using an old tube for what I used a tire for. But I think the bracket would just cut through the tube and be pointless.Bottom line: For the average user I think this is a great product if installed correctly and maybe a little modifications. We (myself & 3yr old boy) took it for a 2.5 mile spin around the neighborhood and it worked like a charm. We stayed on the blacktop streets and grassy yards. IMO it's a pretty neat setup and a great alternative to a trail-a-bike. Solely because it gives the little one an option to ride on his or her own and if he/she tires out you can pull them home. If you plan on taking you little one on some singletrack in the woods you might want to check out the trail-a-bike's.
