Experiments Manual To Accompany Digital Electronics: Principles and Applications

warning some experiments require a function generator and thats not mentioned
Bought for class and for most part okay. Some labs were not written correctly and could not be successfully completed. Several labs would require a clock pulse that required a function generator to achieve. Our professor investigated and the informed us that labs were not possible as written. On the plus side I was able to gain bonus points by figuring out what was wrong on a couple of occasions.

This is Lab Manual used in class.. Unabe to print out any of the questions needed to turn in for points. Get the Hard/soft copy. The digital copy is just to read. Seller has yet failed to make this right. It was not mentioned when I bought it.

I teach from this lab book - Here's advice for success!
Students and Faculty,I have been teaching from this lab book (and the accompanying text book) since it was published. Here's what you need to know. Not all lab experiments work as written. There are some obsolete parts that you can not source (i.e. stepper controllers, hall effect sensors) and you will need to update the lab components to make them work properly. If you are a well versed electronics trade person (no offense to faculty that have never done this in a real career) then you will have no problem updating this on your own. Just know that you (instructors) should work through all labs yourself first to ensure you can explain and assist your students in class. You should be doing this with all labs you assign anyway. The questions at the end of each lab could be improved upon, some drastically. A few of the labs are a waste of time with little to observe that makes an impact on students. These are usually in the early parts of the first 4 chapters. We use the Elenco XK150 trainer in this course extensively. It does provide plenty of digital help (8 logic switches, 2 debounced switches, a simple function generator, 2 potentiometers, dedicated 5V supply, etc.). I highly recommend these go hand in handStudents, if your prof / instructor has you seriously doing these labs from the book as I do, then you must buy a hard copy. There are places to draw circuits and questions to answer, and lab tests to complete and turn in. My students are not allowed to purchase an electronic copy. It requires too much work on your part to print up a lab book, only a portion at a time due to restrictions with the electronic version's delivery online. My students grades coming from the lab book make up about 60% of their overall grade. So this book and what is written in it is vitally important.Overall I find this lab book very good and my students work through nearly every lab in the book up to chapter 8 in both Digital I and Digital II. I also use the text and this lab book for the beginning part of my Microprocessors class, working in chapters 9 through 13, doing 1 lab per chapter. It's a good book and until I write one myself, I don't think there is one better for the way I teach the course.

Good supplement to the Textbook
This is the Experiments Manual that complements the digital Electronics: Principles and Applications Textbook. This text contains the instructions, and lab sheets to complete in your lab sessions in school, or at home with N.I.'s Multi-sim software. The choice will be up to your instruction/professor.
