The barrel leaks! Tried new gaskets with no improvement. Vasoline seems to help. It takes 3-5 tries to get the gasket dry, then reapply vasoline, and then get the perfect amount of screw down pressure. Too much or too little pressure and it will leak. Sometimes it will run for 10 to 60 minutes and then leak.I have called Rio Grande several times. They have no suggestions!!

I returned this one. I had high hopes for this tumbler, as my second tumbler purchase (previous was Harbor Freight), but it is noisy and has a significant design flaw. There are openings at the top that collect steel shot, and they are difficult to remove, which resulted in some being dropped into my garbage disposal. Someone I know uses a magnet to remove the shot, because it interferes with closing the unit. Also, the unit is EXTREMELY noisy. When using it in the kitchen, I could not hear the TV in the next room while sitting in that room. I had to banish it to the basement. I also tried putting a cushioned pad under it on the counter to deaden the sound.It also started to leak the third time I used it. I returned it and bought an Aubin instead. I'm very happy with the Aubin.

I love using this as I make silver jewelry. This gives my work a good preliminary polish. Also cleans up older work.
