Magic Heat Reclaimer for Wood, Coal or Oil Heaters

I have an old wood stove and a short stack so I don't have a problem with the flue temperature getting to cold and building up creasote. Newer more efficient stoves shouldn't use this. For an old stove - this is a way to make it a little more efficient. I'd estimate getting a third more heat out of it. Before the reclaimer the flue temperature can be 500 degrees, after the reclaimer the flue temperature is 350. If I could improve it, I would find a quiet fan. A variable speed fan controlled by temperture would be - just right. If your wood stove does not have electrical power to operate the fan then this will not work as intended. The unit can be ruined by getting to hot. If you buy this, I suggest you also get a thermometer to be sure you don't run your stove too hot.

Use to take hours to feel the heat in our home. And that was only if we were shivering in front of the stove. Now I start a fire, turn on the reclaimer and start feeling hot air blowing within minutes. The family no longer fights over who gets to set in the seat closest to the stove. It's warm everywhere. Wish we'd made this purchase years ago. Worth every penny. Just get it, you'll be so glad you did. Very easy to install.I'm editing this review a year later. (2/2014) After experiencing weeks of single digit night time temps., below zero wind chill, and daytime highs in the teens....I am so greatful to have made this purchase! We are still very happy with this heat reclaimer. It is used around the clock. Still the best " home improvement" purchase we've ever made. Highly recommended to anyone heating their home with a wood stove!

It won’t make a bad stove hot

The Magic Heat unit on the stove pipe does indeed capture the heat that would otherwise go up the chimney. It makes the total system so much more efficient. A wood burning stove provides the nicest of heat in a way that no other heating system can. It warms a person up fast when coming out of the cold and earms the home in a way that retains the heat for hours after the fire has died out. Thank you for providing an efficient product.

I've used this product for years. Works ok but the bad thing about it is that the thermostat continues to go bad after replacing it a couple times and repairing it as well. Pain in the butt. Haven't used it in awhile cause it doesn't work correctly. Would like to get another so I may start using it again. Probably, trying to get one is worse than pulling teeth. Maybe I will be amazed LOL

This one will replace my last Magic Heat Reclaimer for my wood stove. My old Magic Heat Reclaimer kept the heat in the house instead of out the chimney for 35 years. It make a huge difference, keeping the house much warmer. Only turns on when there is a fire in the stove. If you use a wood stove, you need a Magic Heat Reclaimer.

This product should never be used with a wood stove. We installed this with brand new pipe and seal and this thing caused so much creosote we had a chimney fire after 2 months of use. Our local wood stove dealer warned us this was a problem with these but we went with the positive reviews. DONT! JUST DONT INSTALL ONE.

This is the second one of these I have on two different stoves. It works very well and give you a lot more heat than just the stove itself. I let the unit get to hot and the thermostat has failed prematurely but I mounted it to close to the stove. Make sure you clean with the scraper daily and don't over fire the stove.
