If you buy the Brierley Guide to the Camino Porugues, you don't need this one, too.
No problems with the book, it has the maps and accompanying text in several languages.I bought both this and the Guidebook, but if you have the Guidebook, you don't need this one, too,as the maps are identical. I cut the Guidebook in half, leaving home the Lisbon to Porto section to save weight.Otherwise, the map book is slightly lighter in weight than the Guide written only in English.

Disappointed
Unfortunately I was disappointed with this book, I didn't realize it was a condensed version or I would not have bought it. I bought and used John Brierley's book on the Camino de Santiago and used it as my bible whilst walking the Camino, I was expecting the same with this book and its not. I shall probably return the book

Best author of Camino books.
John Brierley writes the best books about The Camino so it only seemed fitting to purchase this one for the Portuguese Camino. The book offers clear and concise maps with great insights as to where to go.

Lots of good info...
Lots of good info but not in the easiest format. Great maps. Good lodging recommendations.

I wonder how he can recommend some of the places he does
The Brierly guide was most unhelpful. The mileages he states in describing the routes are sometimes significantly understated, meaning that you will be walking much longer than you planned to get to your destinations. I wonder how he can recommend some of the places he does. For example, there was a hotel in Ponte de Lima that Brierly recommended that was an absolute pig sty and they wanted €40 per night for two. Leads me to wonder if he even looked at the place before recommending it. The Confraternity of St. James guide was much more reliable, and free! Bom Camino!
