The size and noise level of this thing are good for a small room such as office or bedroom. Please note that this requires $10 filters, so although it is inexpensive, it has hidden costs. If you are not the sort who would wash filters, then this is easy to use.As many purchasers notes, the change filter light fails and stays on all the time. Mine was about 9 months old when the problem started. The Holmes company was great about this, and so I will definitely buy from the company again, but I would not recommend this model. Buy the one with the dial indicator instead.

I was dying before I got this. I felt like that snotty kid that everyone laughed at back in elementary school (no offense, I never laughed at them), because I moved to a new area that was very windy meaning pollen became apart of my life, and my room. On top of that, I have smokers that live in my house and a fluffy dog that spends about 90% of her day in there.I've been using this for about 2 months now and haven't had any signs of allergies anymore in the room. The air just smells so much cleaner. I looked at the filter, and it was plastered with dirt so I'm glad I wasn't sucking that in.The noise is tolerable. I have mine on the lowest setting at night so I don't even notice it, and will sometimes turn it to 2. The strongest setting is a noticeable hum sound, but I'd say my air conditioner next to it is of comparable noise.

I love this little air purifier. I started working in the office of a printing company, and bought this purifier because I kept getting head aches at the end of the day. I assumed it was all the fumes from the solvents when the pressmen cleaned their presses. The smell hits you immediately when you walk in the office, and lingers on your clothes when you come home at the end of the day. Knowing how strong the smell is, I purchased the highest quality filter for the purifier, as well as the carbon filter, and crossed my fingers that it would help even a little bit. It turns out that I haven't gotten a headache since purchasing the purifier, except once when I turned it off at lunch time and forgot to turn it on again. My clothes also no longer smell like chemicals when I get home. I sit within two feet of the purifier, with it standing up on my desk so the clean air blows right in my face. I leave it on the second setting for the eight hours I'm at work, and turn it off when I go home. I couldn't be happier with this product. It was absolutely worth the money, and would recommend it to anyone.

Great night's sleep and wake up without the heavy congestion and foggy feeling that i was used to. I was impressed the 1st morning to wake up without having that heavy feeling in my head. There was no need to immediately grab the tissues. And because of the ease of which i could breathe my sleep has become more restorative. No headache or post nasal drip. Sat machine on table near bed and i turn it on to 1 (lowest) each night. Thinking of getting one for my office at work. Small sized. About the size of an old fashion disc player/boom box. Perfect for close quarters. Quiet enough to sleep soundly. White noise effect. I can sleep through a lot though so .... if you are sensitive to noise you may need time to adjust if you need silence to sleep. I can sleep anywhere! This was an unplanned purchase but one i don't regret and highly recommend to others. Made a huge difference for me.

I love this purifier! It's a little bigger than I expected, but I didn't read the dimensions of the product either. It is also just a little louder than I expected, especially at the highest speed. But honestly, we have no use for the highest speed. Sometimes I turn it to the second highest speed during the day, but otherwise we keep it at the lowest and it isn't too loud at all. I'm not really sure I understand the importance of the ionization feature - so I don't use it much. When I cleaned the pre-filter for the first time the other day, you can totally see how amazing this thing really is. I figured our bedroom isn't too dusty and it wouldn't be too dirty. I was wrong! I haven't been sick since we bought this, and I used to get chronic sinus infections. In fact, I stayed the night somewhere else the other day, and got sick immediately. I'm seriously considering traveling with this thing. It's bulky but I wouldn't care, that's how great it really works!

I absolutey love this air purifier! My mom used this same one for years on her bedroom nightstand for the noise to help sleep. I too always loved to have a soft noise in the background while I slept so I decided to buy one for myself- I’m very picky when it comes to my white noise. I love that it has 3 different settings for sound. I find that the medium setting is the perfect amount of noise, not too loud not too soft. I would suggest the lowest setting for someone who likes a very quiet room, you can barely here it, especially if you have it 5 or more feet away from you at night. As for the air purifying part, I have noticed that my bedroom seems less stuffy and congested than before when I just used a fan. If you do sleep with a fan running at night you’ll notice over time how the blades collect a lot of dust. So it’s a good idea to switch to this so that the air purifier will collect all that dust plus you still get the white noise sound! Win win

We ordered two and after about a week of running on the second setting, one of them is perfectly quiet and the other is noisy.

This little air cleaner was bought to freshen the air in a room where a foster kitty lives that has diarrhea. It really does a good job, without a lot of noise. I bought the upgraded filter with Arm & Hammer in it for pet odors. It runs 24X7 in the room, and helps a lot with the air quality in there.

Ya había comprado otros dos purificadores para habitaciones de mi casa. Eran marcas del todo desconocidas. Pero estoy más contento con esta compra. Costó iigual que el Coastway, y tiene un fiiltro HEPA más grande, purifica más aire en menos tiempo, 3 velocidaders y es mucho más silencioso. ¡Buena compra!!
