Very convenient
I'm one of a small percentage of people who use this differently from how it's intended. Most people want this so they can hide their garbage by mounting this out of sight inside their cabinets. That's not important to me. What is important is that a trash can be easy to reach, clean and empty. This is all that.I mount it on the side of my last kitchen cabinet, high enough that the lid is just about level with the counter. At this height, I don't have to bend over to reach it. When I have garbage, I just reach over, lift the lid with a finger, toss the trash in and lower the lid. I don't have to step back from the cabinet door, open it, lift the lid and reverse the process when done, which saves time. It's just there. The exposed, visible location isn't objectionable to me. In fact, I think the industrial design actually looks rather modern and minimalistic with its wire frame. Likewise, when it's time to replace the bag, the high position is much easier to work with than low on the inside of a cabinet door. The lid is helpful for keeping the cats around the home from getting into the garbage. Likewise, the fact that it's solidly mounted means the cats can't knock it over. Other people have mounted it to the wall, which also works.Something else I like is that, unlike a regular trash can, it doesn't have walls that capture loose debris. Eventually, that stuff just seems to collect, smell up the place and the can needs to be washed out. This open design means any loose debris would just fall onto the floor, where it's cleaned up during regular floor sweeping, which is easy because the high position leaves the floor open and easily accessible, unlike a trash can that sits on the floor. Again, my relatively high mounting position for it means it's easy to reach for cleaning. I just wipe it down when necessary. The lack of a rigid wall all the way around means the bags can be used to their full capacity instead of being constrained by the shape of the trash can.I've had other trash cans before that claim to fit grocery bags, but their fit was usually imperfect, being too long, too short, too wide, etc. This was the first one where it felt like it was tailor-made for the bags. Unfortunately, some stores seem to be buying smaller bags nowadays, which don't fill the frame anymore. The bags slip right around the top of the frame and the handles are held up by hooks so the bag doesn't slide down as it gets filled. The drip tray is supposed to catch liquids, but I don't put wet garbage in the bags anyway. The tray still serves a useful purpose by supporting the bottom of the bag so the bag doesn't stretch and break. In short, this is a useful and inexpensive kitchen trash solution and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if it broke. Which it shouldn't, since it seems to be fairly well-constructed.

... everything to keep the dogs out of the kitchen garbage. I bought a metal simplehuman step-on can
For years I tried everything to keep the dogs out of the kitchen garbage. I bought a metal simplehuman step-on can. They tipped it over and ate the garbage. So I chained the can to the wall. They learned how a step-on can works, pulled the bag out, and ate the garbage. So I put a lock on the can. They pulled it out of the wall and rolled it down the cellar stairs. The lid came off and they ate the garbage. You get the point. My father had a TrashRac in his kitchen for years, but he couldn’t remember where he got it. Then I saw one on Amazon. I love it! I’ve used it for 3 months and the garbage has stayed in the bag! If they ever figure it out how to open the cabinet, I’ll just get some child-guard locks. It’s very convenient and really easy to install. The bags slip over the frame and rest on a plastic tray. There’s room for a roll of bags under the tray. You can buy the trash bag rolls or just use plastic grocery bags. You can’t beat the price, but I do wish it came in a color other than white.

Great product !
I needed something for under my sink, but because of the plumbing I could only get a tiny can under there. Decided to go with this behind the door mount one. For a three gallon capacity, this holds a LOT of garbage. Much more than a standard 3 gallon trash can. Because there is no "can" to hold the bag, the bag is able to use every inch of bag space. Excellent product. Bags that came with it are sturdy, they hold a lot, no bag breakage, and the bag is held in place firmly by the rack. No slipping of bag. Box says you can use grocery store bags, but I wouldn't, they will not hold as much. Found replacement bags here on Amazon, same brand name, 96 bags for about 10 bucks. Good deal.

Excellent solution for o small kitchen
No floor space for a garbage bin. A friend had it and it was a great solution for us. We have used this system for 30 years, this is a replacement. I like its small size as it forces you to take out the garage before it gets stinky
