Lettering hard to see.

I got this for my brother in law's anniversary. Nice glass, good and thick. Only problem is you can't see what was written on the glass. I thought that maybe if we out the beverage in it that would help, but it didn't. Even with a dark beer in there you still can't see what was written on the glass.
