Relieved the backpack is very well made. Not a stitch out of place. This pack converts into a large or standard size backpack.
Suprisingly good quality comparing to some of the reviews purchased in Sept 2016. I thought they were making a bad batch or something because right after I bought this backpack 2 negative reviews came up concerning the quality of the backpack. I immediately checked every zipper (both under and inside out) and checked all the stitching & corners. Very solid. Not one single thread sticking out and all the finishing stitches are solid. Stitching is consistent and doesn't get too close to the edges. Zippers are all double zips for easy access. Very solid. Just what you would expect from a high quality backpack. I was relieved this was put together well because I thought I may have purchased at the wrong time given the recent negative reviews. Quite the contrary. This backpack is made very well and has some added advantages I didnt expect.Perhaps I didnt understand the title "Expandable Tactical" but this feature is pretty cool. There is a zipper at the bottom of the pack that zips around the entire perimiter of the shoulder strap portion. When zipped, this backpack is about the average size of any standard backpack. When unzipped, you gain about 2" more space for the entire pack. This would look a little too large if you are just going around the city with it or something but for a Bug Out Bag this feature is a huge plus. Extra storage just with one zip, sure I'll take that. I like the fact when the extra space is zipped up it is about the size of a standard backpack. The expandable feature is well worth it.Great pockets on the sides. If there is one thing I love, its extra storage areas for the little things like first aid kit, flashlight, Fire starters etc. The 4 side pockets and 2 back pockets make it extremely easy to have quick access to your smaller items. And the great thing about it is they are not free floating on the edge of the pack. These 6 outer pockets are part of the pack, fully partitioned. (This was the main reason I purchased it). There is also an inner pocket in the main part of the pack, as well as a water bladder reinforced opening separate from the zippered opening. The water bladder tube opening is top center, close to the shoulder straps. The shoulder straps are very comfortable. Chest strap for hiking is standard and yes it can be elevated or lowered like the higher price packs. The belt strap is probably unnecessary when using this as a standard size backpack but would be very useful when in the expanded size. There is no padding on the lower belt strap but at least its long enough to accommodate those of us with a beer belly.Overall very impressed. Very solid. I like the expandable feature more than I thought I would. The 6 outer pockets are fantastic and well made. Gotta give it 5 stars when there is not a stitch out of place.-Trav

A solid bag, at a darn good price. Big. More for travel, deployment, camping, and overnight. Not ideal for office/laptop.
Well built. Zippers are solid. The four side pouches are about the size of a can of pop and two power bars, so you could have four meals there on the outside. The molle straps are sewn in solid also. Shoulder straps are well padded. comes with the US flag morale patch, a nice touch. The main compartment is big. It's loose carry in there so you don't want to use this as a laptop bag. It has a space for a water bladder. The expandable zipper will make the inner main compartment a few liters bigger I suspect. It's quite a large bag to begin with so I doubt I'll expand it. It has side handles that are sturdy, so you can carry it briefcase style as well. It has molle straps on the bottom, so you can lash another bag or your roll out mattress on there with a few nylon lashings. Cons: I use this as a day carry bag back and forth to civilian work, so I wish it had a water bottle holder outside the bag, but I should have seen that before I bought it, so I can't knock it for that. For the price, this one is a great value. If I had to outfit a group with a sturdy travel bag, I'd choose this one. Identical bags at local big box store was 90 USD . I bought the gray, and the color is dark and not "too tactical" to carry around.

Great Backpack For the Price Point
I have had a few of these over the last few years and just ordered another one. I will caveat my review with I bought this backpack as a backpack and not for any type of tactical component. I have never used the chest straps so I couldn't give any review on the quality of them. With that being said I have used the back pack in different environments and scenarios and overall for the price point this backpack is excellent. It lasted a good amount of time and I am only replacing my last one because I had a rather large spill on it (due to a fault of my own). The inside of lining does start to wear a bit quick, but the back pack is overall usable.I purchased this backpack due to the various compartments it offers. At this price point you cant find a good backpack with this amount of compartments, the amount of space inside the backpack, and the price. It is expandable which helps when putting more stuff in it and it can get rather large on the back. As one reviewer pointed out, it does sag and doesnt have support if you fill the top compartments. That personally doesnt bother me and as mentioned I dont use it as a tactical backpack so I cant comment on if that would be an issue or not.Overall for the price point, you cant beat it.
