The ARM Lock box features the patent-pending TriPoint locking system, consisting of three 1/2 inch wide steel locking lugs that secure the lid at three points of contact unlike current products that use only one. The ARM Lock shackle provides a significantly stronger security option than the industry standard easily cut wire cable. The ARM Lock shackle can be adjusted to fit around objects as large as 3 1/2" in diameter. Adjustments are made simply by pulling up on a spring loaded knob that releases the ARM Lock shackle. Highly mobile, portable and secure. Access to the ARM Lock box is controlled by a barrel-lock and key and the interior of the box is padded with thick foam on both the top and bottom of the box to protect firearms and valuables from damage.

Excellent, solid, heavy-weight, and very secure. Seems much more secure than boxes with steel cables.
This is an awesome lock-box for use in a vehicle. I bought this so I would have a place to leave my firearm if I had to go into a "gun-free zone" (banks, post office, etc.) I previously had a different brand of box, similar, but with a coated steel cable instead of the steel locking arm that this box had... Anytime I had to leave my firearm in my car, even though it was locked up in that (previous) box and out of sight, I was worried, because I knew it really wouldn't do much more than slow someone down. Anyone armed with a basic bolt-cutter or even some wire-cutters could easily cut through the cable locking system on the other boxes I've owned. Now, FINALLY, I feel my weapon is actually, truly SECURE when I have to leave it. This box is really SOLID!! The 3-way locking system is superior to other boxes, which I feel could be pried open much more easily than this box. The locking arm is THICK and strong, and isn't something that someone could easily cut through. It is easily adjustable, and I am able to get the arm around part of the metal base of my driver's seat, and still have the box be hidden underneath the seat, out of view (though I'm in a van - someone with a smaller car might not have enough room for this). I will keep my old lock-boxes (with the cables) for use in my home, to lock up firearms and other small valuables, but this one will stay in the van so I know I've always got a truly safe place to leave my firearm when I must. I think this box is also perfect for taking on trips, to lock up valuables while staying in a hotel - again, much more secure than the boxes with the easily-cut cables. It is HEAVY - but I suppose that is a good thing! The metal is very thick and strong. Excellent for my purposes.

Thank you amazon for making returns easy. Hornady
This is a very well built safe, made by a reputable company. However, pay attention to the size you need. Because of the tri-lock system, there is about 2/3 of an inch of unusable space on the lock side of the safe on all three sides. This was not a big deal for me because I put a 9mm shield in it and there's plenty of room for it (I could fit another one if I wanted. The reason I am giving this 4-stars instead of 5 is because the original safe that was sent to me did not work with one of the two provided keys. For security reasons Hornady states they will not send extra keys so I had to send back the entire unit for a new one. Thank you amazon for making returns easy. Hornady? Get your quality control together.P.S. The keys on my second unit work fine and I am very happy with this purchase overall, especially considering the price

Built really well, and worth the money. Easy to hide in my car.
This safe is awesome. Since I've started to carry everyday, I needed a good car safe for the times I'm at a place where I can't legally carry.(Like the post office, etc.) I've looked at several other lock boxes, but they all used a metal cable to attach to a place in your car. Even a thick aircraft cable can be cut quickly with the right size bolt cutters, so they are just giving you a false sense of security. If I were a lowlife breaking into cars I would obviously have bolt cutters with me, that's a no-brainer. Then you can take the whole safe and break into it later. Other thing I didn't like about the cheaper safes is that they used a flat key, which are also easier to pick. The obvious advantage with the ArmLock Box, is that it has the shackle arm that pulls out from the box. It was easy to find a point under a seat in my car to lock it to, and the arm gives me enough room to swing it out from under the seat when I need to lock up my gun. It went far enough under the seat so you can't see it looking into my car. I don't have a lot of space under my car seats, but I got lucky and it fit perfectly. I'm not an engineer, but the entire safe is 16ga metal, and the lugs that lock into the shackle seem really solid. I really think that cutting into it for theft would not be feasible, and I don't see a way to rip the arm from the box.The second thing I like about this safe is that it uses a circular key. Takes more time and skill to pick that kind of lock. It takes some practice opening it WITH the key, so I feel that picking the lock would take a considerable amount of time. This thing would be a pain to break into, and it would take way too much time for a smash and grab. You would need an angle grinder and that is way too loud and obvious night, or day. Plus there is not a lot of room for play under the seat to even get a good angle to try to cut it. I looked for some play from the seams of the box, and there is like maybe 1/16th" or so. It's really not enough to get a tool with enough leverage in there. (I read a comment about that, so I checked). Even a thin pry bar would be a no-go, IMO. The 3 points of contact with the locking mechanism makes this really difficult. The interior is good, but if you have a single stack you might want to put in another layer of foam. My M&P Shield slides around (If I'm carrying the whole box around) but that's not what it's for. It's fine while driving and doesn't slide around. It doesn't bother me, but then again I'm not carting around an expensive firearm.A tip I found from another comment on here was to leave the box unlocked when you are not storing something inside it. So if you get broken into, at least they won't ruin the safe since you can just open it and see it's empty. I recommend this safe, it's worth the extra money.

Built like a tank!
First thing I said when I got the box from Amazon (always quickly shipped) was "holy crap, it weighs a ton." Its a little over six pounds and everything is built well. The tri-lock bolts engage a separate welded slot on the bottom of the box. It'd be hell to pry open. The locking arm is solid and it would take heavy tools and some time to cut through it. Fits a Ruger GP 100 4.2 inch barrel with two full speed loaders and a spare box of 20 rounds.

Nice box..
This box is sweet, super sturdy construction. I got it to keep my handgun in my trunk when I need to. I think it fits the tee fine. the attachment bar is nice and sturdy and much better then a cable that someone could just cut with a simple bolt cutter. not sure yet if the gun will shake around when it's closed but if it does I will just add some more foam to keep stuff from moving around.Good quality box that will serve short periods of time for a secure spot. Nothing like this should be used for full time storage, I am sure someone that knows what they are doing could open this up in less than 10 minutes with the right tools, but short term and attached to an object it serves a purpose.

Great item..
Better locking system, and small enough you can fit it into a range bag.Be prepared to pay more if you buy it from Amazon though....
