Effective strength training for your hands
After starting to weightlift again recently I realised my grip strength was the weak link in the chain, so I bought the 100 - 200lb pack and I'm pleased I chose to start at the bottom. The knurling is hard on your hands and to close even the "beginner" grips involves a certain amount of pain, both at the time and afterwards. These products are designed to be used for low reps 2/3 times a week, so if your hands are sore then take a break; you need to take rest days like any other strength training program. It's been a few weeks since I bought them and my hand strength has increased considerably - I am now close to closing the 200lb grips when at first it seemed like an impossible feat.Regardless of your current strength I'd recommend starting with the 100-200lbs set as even if you find the 100lb gripper relatively easy to close, they're useful to have in their own right. I'd also recommend buying an adjustable hand gripper (one of the 10-40kg ones) as they've proved invaluable in gradually conditioning my hands to the increasing demands I'm putting on them and getting the blood flowing before I start the workout. I'd also recommend using some extensor bands (or just rubber bands) to work the fingers the other way too, I've found it helps with recovery and all around strength. At the moment, my hands are bruised and I've developed callouses. This is in part down to the sheer force required to close the grippers and in part down to the knurling. Don't be under any illusions; if you use this product your hands will hurt. If you're not sure if they're for you then try the adjustable type first and gradually work your way up from there, you'll be surprised at how challenging they can be even if on paper they don't seem all that strong. To sum up - these grippers are effective and my hand strength has increased in a relatively short time. They're not perfect because I'm sure there's more comfortable handle designs out there. For me, that's less important because I'm using this product in conjunction with weight lifting and hand callouses go with the territory. However, if you're willing to put in the effort and deal with some discomfort then I can highly recommend this product for increasing hand strength. I think they're well priced and high quality, they'll last for years and years. Once I finally master the 200lbs set I'll be purchasing the 250-350 set to really see how far I can go!

Good quality for a good price.
Nicely finished, and the handles have knurled surface for a good grip, protected against rust, but a few drops of WD40 or similiar oil between the coils, will protect it even better from salty sweat, and remove eventual noise when closing the grippers.Curiously, the 200 pound gripper has about a 1/4 inch more distance between the handles than the 150 and 200 pound grippers, if you put the handles together, you can observe it.Maybe it is just my 200 pound gripper, but no problem, after you comfortably can close the 200 pound 12-15 rep x 3-4 sets, the distance to close the 250 pound gripper from the 200 pound, is less than from the 150 pound to the 200 pound, at least it was like that for me.I could have wished for some sharper knurling on the handles for an even better grip, but use a towel to dry off your palms before you start each set, it helps.I recommend this series of handgrippers, this is good quality handgrippers that will last a Lifetime of use.

heavy grips
great hand grips. i started by struggling to close the 150lbs but using the training advice provided within 2 weeks i had closed the 200lbs and am aimimg to closing the 250lbs one.i initially bought these to improve grip strength as i have been weight training for 6 months and have started to train heavier weights and found that my grip failed on 160kg deadlifts in fact anything over 130kgs my grip struggled with multiple reps. in a short time i have found that i can perform 160kgs for singles and my grip does not fail i am now able to use a double overhand grip rather than a mixed grip.my hands feel stronger and even look muscular my forearms have gained size and strength also.the grips look like they will last forever as well. cost effective and good fun as well.

It' amazing, the number of things in life that will be improved by a strong grip. The padded grips you get from a high street sports shop just don't do the business but these 'Heavy Grips' do. The only problem I have - I should have bought the full set of six. I bought the 100, 150 and 200 and when I received them (about a month ago) I couldn't close the 100. Now I think I will be ready to start on the 250 in a couple of months time. I always had to use straps to deadlift past 100Kg. Last Saturday I did 130Kg x 8 without straps - that's twice body weight and a personal best and I put it all down to grip strength!

Great hand grippers.
After much searching, I went for the 200, 250 and 300lb grips and I can say they are some of the best things I have bought and very much worth buying. The quality is at the highest. I was unsure as to what level to go for. I bought a set of Lonsdale heavy grips around a year ago and worked up to 80 reps both hands, with the 200lb heavy grips I started around 2cm short of closing it. A week later I am almost there. With the 250 I can get to about 3 cm short now. The 300 ones are on a different level. I can hardly move them.

Impressive kit!
If like me you are no weakling but no Superhero either, then these are ideal. The 100's are great for a warm up before getting on to the 150's to do a few sets. The 200's are not of much use to me right now but well worth buying as part of the set as I have a goal to aim for.Comes with a basic guide on a sheet of A4 as to how to use them and get the best from them which is definitely of use and a nice touch.I can see why they have a lifetime guarantee, these are STURDY!Overall happy -.may follow this review up in a month or two and try not to break the iPad.

Worth Every Penny
Solid hand grips, with nice knurling for better grip. It didn't take me long to go from the 100lb(45kg) to the 150lb(68kg) grip the 200lb(90kg) is more of a challenge for at the moment but I will get there. These hand grips are a lot better than those cheap plastic grippers with variable resistance settings, I know this because I broke the coil within a few weeks of purchase.I would definitely recommend Heavy Grips for those who really want to improve their grip strength and forearm strength. And I will definitely be purchasing more Heavy Grips in the future.
