I love these!
I was an oil painter in college and for years have been trying to find a substitute that didn't have the same harsh chemicals as the traditional oils I used back then, mostly because I can't handle the harsh smell in my home (and around my pets!). These oils are perfect-- they feel exactly like the traditional oils I'm used to and have almost none of the smell! Yes, they are expensive, but IMO worth it for the experience-- Golden's open acrylics don't even come close. Recommend!

Good Quality Paint Set for Beginners
I painted with these for the first time recently and am glad I had "Pop Painting" by Camilla d'Errico to help me learn how to use them. I tried mixing them with water and with acrylic glazing medium, and am quite happy with the texture and drying time the ACM lends to these paints.

Jury still out!
No instuctions came with these so I didn;t even know where or how to start or when to use the linseed oil and when to use water. I'm still practicing with them so the "jury is still out"!

Love these Holbein Duo Aquas!
I've used everything form Cobra through Grumbacher and Windsor and Newton water soluble (or water miscible) oils and these are my go-tos. As oil paints go (because these are oils with a molecule tweaked to make it bond with water) they're not grainy, are flexible, and loaded with pigment. You can use them with oil or acrylic media and they hold up to both, and for those with a lot of allergies, you can use them with water, just fine, simply determine your butter-zone of water to paint and you can paint using a water medium (the molecules of pigment won't spread as evenly as with a medium, but this isn't -- as far as I've ever heard -- detectable with the human eye). So, flexible, pigmented, and they stand up time without fading. Professional level water-soluble oils!

Very good for beginners
It’s affordable and convenient because it comes with linseed oil. The texture and colors are very good.

Would highly recommend!
I'm a self-taught multimedia artist and I thought of trying oil paint for the first time. This one's beginner-friendly and not so intimidating to use. Without the oil, expect the consistency to be thick and hard to blend. This works in your favor if you want to add texture to the work. But with the oil, blending colors becomes easier. This one's also great because the paint comes off with water. I really love it!
