SHIMANO BR-M446 BL-M445 Hydraulic Brake Front & Rear Black RT56 160mm Rotor

Upgraded my 2007 Rush from Avid BB7 to these and the difference in stopping power is significant. Highly recommend this for anyone with mechanicals looking for a cheap upgrade. No squeaks at on on my first ride. One or two fingers is all you need one the levers. With the mechanicals I had to pull with 3 fingers to get enough stopping power.Switching the left and right levers is very easy, just use an 8mm wrench and unscrew the lines and swap the levers. If done before you press the lever for the first time there is no fluid lost and you won't have to bleed them.I had to buy an adapter for the front separately since the lefty fork has IS mounts and this is a post mount brake. I got the Shimano F160P/S and it fits perfectly. The rear comes with an adapter attached. Also had to buy a longer line for the rear. Measured the old brake line and it was 1550mm so bought the Shimano BH-90 hose kit with 1700mm hose. Install of a new line is very simple but then the brake needs to be bled.

Review would have been higher but to many small problems. the levers are on wrong side,and you do have to change them if you want right lever to be for back and left for front. It should be mentioned in ad. Luckily I did know how to do it and was only a one minute quick fix. Rear brakes came with brackets but not the front, so if you don't already have some, buy some before you get this. Also no instructions, so you better know what your doing to install.

This brake set works perfectly and is east to install, the only downside to this set is it's configured reversed (motorcycle). You will have to reverse the cables and this may lead to air getting into the hydraulic lines. If that happens you will have to bleed the lines and add new fluid, this could cost you another $40 or so. I got lucky and switched the lines without incident. I would purchase this set again.

The brakes came with warped rotor and brakes were installed to the opposite lever. Would not buy again.

No instructions, lever upside down, adapter for rear brake mounting but not front, no way to contact supplier except to return the whole thing. Very poor overall.

want to try hydraulics, go no further, this set will amaze you with it's stopping power, when you squeeze them you can't feel any resistance and they will stop you like a concrete wall, very light, easy to install, no need to bleed if you follow the steps but should get the kit if you plan on cutting the lines, easy to do as well, this brakes changed my bike completely, after installing was like having a new bike. quality is amazing and for the price you can not go wrong!

The package is complete. It would have been nice to pack the necessary zip ties with it, so as to attach the cables to the frame. But then you can get zip ties everywhere. But.. Still... Would have been a nice gesture to pack the zip ties with it. I noted one thing though: the right-hand brake commands the front wheel, and the left-hand brake commands the back wheel. So that's the UK convention. Funny. Everywhere else, the right-hand brake commands the BACK wheel. Is that deliberate? Was there a choice when I ordered it? In any case - great package. Great price. Easy to mount and everything. Perfect !

I had to switch brake levers to other side . brake pads rattle in caliper. Beside those two little things they work good for the price.
