Good but not great
This gimbal feels solid. Easy to fold when not in use or when storing. Set up is easy due to Feiyu's how to video in their website. Not only that, the buttons have good feedback when pressing.Stability itself is good when in use. Video do look good as it looks like there is no shaking. Also, the way this gumball balances smartphones us good due as it has an automatic balance set up when it is turned on.I have not download their app but based on the videos in their website, it looks like it works but again I have not tried it.The BIGGEST PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS IS THE PHONE HOLDER.1. This will only fit phones with skins, thin case or no case.2. This will not hold your phone if you have a thick case like otterbox, pop socket or ring holder.3. Take a look at the picture, it does not securely fits my phone with thin case and a ring holder. IPHONE 11 PRO and iphone se.I do not know if Feiyu tested with a thick case but I can tell you this that I think they only tested phones with no case. I would be worry putting a phone onto this without a case as IF i drop this gimbal then anything can happen. Their packaging even shows a phone without a case. The phone holder needs to be improve as most phones will have case and the phone holder needs to be bigger to accommodate phones with thick cases.Overall, this phone gimbal is good but not great.

It's nice for simple use and vlogging, but struggles a bit with more complex shots
The problem really is with the range of motion. It's ok when you video yourself, or something at reasonable angles. But let's say you want to perform a simple crane shot, it doesn't have the ability, or the range of motion to achieve that. Maybe if you hold the handle parallel to the ground, and even then, it won't let you point the phone 90 degrees up/down.For what it costs I guess it's a nice purchase when all is said and done.

Reconsidering my original opinion
After I described my initial experience, the reseller reached out and I had a lengthy discussion with their representative, who was very open and candid about the issues I raised in my initial review. At this point, I am willing to concede that my poor experience of four years ago with FeiyuTech's lack of tech support kept me from even trying to get tech support this time, which is unfair to FeiyuTech. It also seems quite feasible that I was merely the unlucky recipient of a defective unit.Given that and the provision of adequate tech support, I'm going to give the FeiyuTech VLOG Pocket another try. I will amend my review as necessary based on my new evaluation.Until then, I have re-ranked the product based on its build quality and my user experience.Jerry

Great Size; Convenient Form-Factor
I came in with high hopes & had them mostly met! I think this is a great li'l unit for the lightest level duty of "selfie-style" walk-&-vlog video recording. The hardware's definitely compact, comfy & fairly straightforward in its operation. The software is *okay*, but, could be greater "intuitiveness." A minor challenge one can pretty easily overcome, with a bit of practice.Overall, not a bad choice & and I do think the price is set well (currently $79 USD).(Ultimately, I think my research on available options was still a bit underdone at the point of this purchase - which is why, when my unit seemed to wig out on me a bit, I just ended up choosing another brand instead of opting for a replacement.)Feiyu folks (if you're reading): sharpen up that app & I think you've got a winning product in this space.

Great value, great performance
The media could not be loaded. Today I have with me FeiyuTech’s new Vlogpocket, marketed as a foldable, portable phone gimbal. I immediately noticed that the box itself was significantly smaller than the box of its predecessor, the iSteady Mobile.Opening the box, you get a warranty card, quick start guide, an attachable folding tripod stand, a charging cable, a drawstring fabric bag, and the gimbal. The vlogpocket is significantly smaller than the isteady mobile, and sports a slightly different tripod design, which looks and feels sturdier because of the thicker legs. True to its name, this gimbal folds into a compact form factor that can fit into the fabric bag that comes with it. This can easily fit into a backpack for traveling, although a pocket is kind of difficult unless you have really big pockets. To set up the gimbal, unfold the gimbal by turning the locking mechanism, relock it, then unlock the axis clamp by just clicking the base like so, and fit the phone into the expandable clamp. Although the vlogpocket is small, it is designed for plus-sized iphones like the 10s Max, so it should be able to handle most other phones as well. Hold the power button to turn it on, and you’re ready to start filming. The control panel is very simple and consists of just 2 buttons: a power button, and mode button. Hold the power button to turn it on and off, click once to switch between panning and lock mode, and click twice to switch between portrait and landscape. The second button takes photos and videos. There is a trigger button on the other side, which if you press and hold turns on follow mode, which you can reset by double clicking it.The gimbal works smoothly and professionally and is amazingly responsive to turns. However, due to its compact design, it uses a different form of a 3-axis gimbal that somewhat restricts up and down angles so you can’t make low to the ground shots like the iSteady Mobile. Given its portability, I would say that it is definitely a good trade-off if you stick to less ambitious shots. There is also a companion app that you can download to access the follow feature and the record button on the device.Altogether, this gimbal is perfect for traveling, with a massive 8-hour operation time or 14-hour standby time, and can handle almost any phone on the market. It can easily fit into a backpack or purse and can be set up in a matter of seconds, letting you capture the moments you want to remember.

Is this the perfect smartphone gimbal?
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been waiting for a product like this to be released. I’ve used different gimbals in the past which have been designed for phones, and whilst the technology is usually great, their design lets them down. I have found due to their size; my past purchases rarely ever left the house and were too bulky to take up precious room in a bag whilst travelling! Having this folding design is a massive plus.I own the larger AK2000 gimbal that I use with a mirrorless DSLR and it’s been great. I was equally impressed when I was unpacking this gimbal, it feels strong without being too heavy and it’s tiny when it’s folded up! The battery is advertised to last about 14 hours in standby mode, whilst I haven’t used it for this long, I have got a full day using it without having to recharge. It has a simplified button control on the front and rear trigger. Unlike many other gimbals you won’t find a joystick control or any kind of screen and there is good reason for this. The compact design means it has sacrificed some buttons but once you have learnt the correct combination of button presses, it’s easy to navigate.Something else which I’m pleased to see with this gimbal is the fact you don’t need to balance and calibrate it. Just mount your phone roughly in the centre of the grip and the motors will automatically balance it! A single button allows you to change the orientation of the phone quickly without remounting and a shutter release will let you change shooting modes. It works with the phone’s native camera app with the usual modes of lock, panning and follow. If you want to use the additional features, you must download the FeiyuOn app. I found this process very easy and once you’ve installed the app you can access features such as panoramas, object tracking and dolly zooming. The package it great, my only complaint is that is uses micro USB, where it would be nice to have seen USB C, however this is a minor issue and one which probably won’t bother most buyers. Finally, I think I’ve found a gimbal that’s small enough to carry with me and therefore actually use!

Fun Out and About
Remember To Live In The Real World! So I have been using this for the past week and I wasn’t sure what to expect! It exceeded my expectations, it was very easy to use and intuitive! This gimbal is designed for shooting vlog and it's perfect for travel because it folds up to fit in your pocket (admittedly I was wearing a big coat)! It comes with an app that is super smooth and has many different styles that allow you to program it to move in different directions and different movements! I can’t comment on the battery life but I’ve used it for a intensively for a week and it hasn’t ran out😊! It has a light body with the newest super motor and a payload capacity up to 240g which can be compatible with popular smart phones! This is a must for beginners and anyone that wants to try a smartphone gimbal!I have a had a very enjoyable time taking photos with the gimbal and it’s nice to try something new and this gimbal is one you should try!Plus it gets you out the house to experience the real world - which I kind of forget about sometimes!

Portability and stability in pocket form
If you are looking for a smartphone gimbal then look no further! I’ve used this for a week and can’t really fault it. Having previously used the Zhiyun smooth 4, I’m fairly knowledgeable when it comes to smartphone gimbals and this one is on par with that in terms of stability. As a run and gun videographer portability is paramount and this certainly puts a big tick in that box.If you are looking for a smartphone gimbal then this is a serious contender.
