I built a deck and by code needed a self latching gate.I found this item on Amazon and it worked great. High quality with a key so you can lock people out. Works great, happy with the purchase.

I'm reviewing quality control. I received what looks to be like a sturdy lock on Friday. Plenty of time for a weekend install to satisfie my townships inspector on Monday. Unfortunately it came out of a sealed package in the locked position with no keys. Will have to buy a new lock locally and pronto.

Have not installed yet (received and after inspection, review is not affected due to not physically installing unit). Compared to old unit that will be replaced solid and construction is of same if not exceeding original gate latch. Will be ordering a 2nd for my other gate latch with is need of replacement.

works as described and is a magnetic lock so it never misses catching when my pool gate slams shut.

So far so good. I love the lock. My gate installers put it on for me.

For an exterior gate the contraption was a little hard for my wife to open consistently but it's meant to be child proof so it works for me.

Fantastic! This was exactly what we were looking for. We have an in ground pool and small children so this helps us feel safe- hopefully it will withstand the summers to come.
