Not for casual drivers.
But, that was always the point if this game. It was designed to bring a real driving simulator to console platforms and That's what the developers did.So, if you don't have a wheel and seat, you will not get out of this simulation that which the developers put in. While a wheel without a seat is a step in the right direction, the effect of your inputs on the behavior of the car is affected in a simulation much in the same way you would experience if you tried to drive a real performance car that had a wobbly wheel on front of a Barcalounger or folding chair.Try to drive pretty much any of the cars at competitive speeds with an XBOX controller and you might find yourself wanting to jump on Amazon and write the sort of 1 Star review that reflects buying something with great expectations and getting much more than you were ready to deal with.BTW, I received my Disc on the 12th of May. After setting up the wheel and seat, it took me a fair amount of time to navigate arount the menus in order to get where I wanted to go. It could be more intuitive, but game developers long ago threw out any notion that they were responsible to explain how to use their products. While I don't like that fact, that's the need Reddit and other forums came to fill. For hat its worth, I paid $60 for Forza Horizons and tossed it a drawer after two sessions. Thinking that Forza would follow with a real simulator was a bone headed way to think. Getting a driving game that has girls in short shorts using pink panties to start races is my idea of a waste of money. Project Cars is clearly not that.

Apparently the patch fixed allot???
We're not sure what's going on here. Read all the bad reviews and seriously lowered expectations for this game. But it's great! Only played it an hour (Xbox one, patched, Thrustmaster steering wheel) but haven't had any of the problems we've read about in other reviews. Plays smooth. Great graphics. Best views of any racing game. Cars handle great. Definitely on the sim side of a driving experience. To be fair we've just been practicing an the various tracks with random cars so haven't tried everything but so far so good and I only expect it to get better.EDIT: I'm took a star off. After playing it some more it has a lag on certain circuits like the California highway and also when running with a full pack of other cars. This all seems like stuff that is fixable. Some of the single car smaller circuit stuff is really smooth. The other things that ticks me off is that Amazon lowered the price a day after it came out. Kind of a "Screw you" to the people that pre-ordered.

Definitely not killed by Forza
I guess I should expect the large number of savaged, short reviews from Forza fans, but still feel suitably annoyed to try and set the record straight. There certainly are some things Forza has over Project Cars, as you would expect with Turn 10 having an exponentially larger budget and design team. Forza has more cars, brighter graphics and better sound.Where Project Cars is better than Forza is gameplay. The AI is much better because it's not relying on "Drivatars" crashing into you every corner. You get to actually qualify for races and start in a commensurate position with Project Cars, and every track is configurable to time of day and weather, where Forza only has rain and night available on some tracks.I own both. When I want to drive a track in a street car, I generally play Forza. When I want to race, online or on my own, I turn to Project Cars. There is room for both.

this is by far the best racing experience ever
This is not an arcade game - it is a simulation. Mayeb that's why I see some 2 and 3 stars. For a motor racing fanatic who has purchased nearly every racing game on nearly every console over the past 20 years, this is by far the best racing experience ever. Graphics are right on. Sound quality and accuracy of sound for each vehicle, for someone who has seen most of these cars in real life, is right on. FINALLY - a true racing experience that does an excellent job an conveying the feelign of being in each vehicle. Moreso if you have a wheel/seat configuration in place a of a handheld controller. I also work a lot and do nto have a lot of time to myself, so I apporeciate the ability to jump in and enjoy an advanced class vehicle without having to spend hours working my way up from base models to prove myself. LOVE IT

Horrible!! I really do not write reviews but ...
REVISED....after posting my original review, I gave the game a second chance. Again, I really do not write reviews but I felt it necessary to write this. After reading many of the reviews posted here, I did download the patch for the xbox one and revised my settings as suggested by some nice people ;). I will say it worked. I do not have a wheel, so stuck with the controller. The frame rate is a bit lower than Forza, and steering isn't quite as responsive but is vastly improved. The level of detail with car set up is really impressive, as the car does really respond with subtle changes. Glad I did give this one a second chance, it will fill the gap as I wait for F1 2015, and Forza 6. Again thanks for many users posting settings, really made the difference!!

Car simulators like Forza are by far my favorite genre
I was not impressed by this game. Car simulators like Forza are by far my favorite genre, but the design of this game simply was not for me. Don't get me wrong, the game displays beautifully, the graphics are great, the track selections are great. But the car offerings are extremely limited (I think there is only 1 american car company represented). They say the simulation aspect of this game is the most realistic, and I say BS; (most of the) real cars do NOT handle the way this game represents. There is no customization at all. I takes an hour at the start of the game just to set up the proper control settings just to get the cars to handle manageably. And then each car has be tuned individually further just to get them to handle acceptably. I like to race, give me some general tune settings at the start so I can drive immediately, and then perhaps I will tune those general settings further to make it better. In this game, you hop into a 4-wheel drive Audi, and immediately do uncontrollable donuts. Extremely disappointed.

Great Game
Project Cars is a realistic racing game which delivers in every aspect. I particularly like the opportunity you have to race karts, and start from the bottom and work to the top.

This game is not what was to be expected. This game was crowd funded and the Developers abandoned it after release. The game is full of annoying glitches that will drive you insane and there aren't a lot of cars. The up side of this game is the graphics, they are pretty good. But be prepared to drive around for a while with an annoying glitch sound playing in the background. 2 Stars only because of the sound glitch.

Gran juego
Es un gran juego, gráficos perfectos para su momento. No se puede jugar de dos jugadores simultáneos, es una lástima.

a great combination. If you are not familiar with sim ...
I have been a Sim racer for the last 15 years, and this is, combined with Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel Ferrari 458 Italia Edition, a great combination. If you are not familiar with sim racing for a long time, it will be difficult for a novice, to have fun. It needs a lot of tuning abilities.
