I was, to be honest, surprised both with the quality of this horn and the quality of the leather holster that came with it. My own horns were 15-20 years old and getting worn down so I wanted to replace them with a smaller easier to carry horn and this one fits the bill...in spades.

Arrived on time, the leather holster was perfectly sized, and overall the quality of the product felt superior to others I had been shopping for and returning. However there was one large cut on the side of the horn. Not a crack, but a cut as if the horn had accidently been bumped against the sharp edge of a band saw for a second. This is something that the sellers should have identified before sending it out. Chances are this wont happen to you, so I still recommend it. I'm just frustrated with my own experience.

There is no reason that this should have arrived in this condition. There are smudges, marks, prints and scuffs on the surface of the drinking horn, and it makes me believe that these were handled poorly. I'd classify it as tape residue and exposed hands handling the product. Other than that, the construction of this item is negligible and it will clean up. Scuffs however will be permanent, and this is a shame.

Made a great addition to my renfest outfit. While I already had a very nice handmade mug I paid quite a bit for this ended up replacing it as I had so much fun drinking out of this thing all weekend.Comes with a holster freeing up your hands when you need it. Only thing I wish it had was a cap to put over the top, checked with some of the leather vendors to see if one Could be made but they said the horn was too thin for one and the leather would probably break it.So overall 9 out of ten, love rhe thing but doubt the longevity of it, should at least last me a couple seasons.

A little scratched on the outside, but not where it counts. As the other reviews mention, this horn will split if exposed to too much liquid or moisture—especially on the inside. Mine is starting to come apart on a portion of the “lip,” but eh. I didn’t expect to be pouring mead in and out of it anyway.Very dusty inside. Take a stick, a cotton ball, and get to work—or use a paper towel and your hand if you’re small like me.Note: the holder is BLACK. I was expecting dark brown.

Beautiful and hefty, but like other reviews have said, it is peeling from the top on the inside. This was easily remedied by sealing the lip with UV resin, but that's a step the craftsman could have taken to improve the quality. The leather belt attachment was good and tight, and the button, the leather, and the lattice thread were good quality.

It’s exactly what I wanted for an art project.
