Scarpa Killer for Half The Price
Awesome right out of the box -- no break-in needed. Great fit, good support, lightweight, and just plain comfy. They feel breathable and don't make my feet sweaty. I also own the Scarpa Mojito, upon which these are modeled. Scarpas are more than twice the price of the Hanagals and are not as comfortable. My feet slide out of the backs of the Scarpas when walking, but these shoes keep everything in place. Will try to remember to update after some time, but construction appears to be good quality. The only potential issue is that the sole tread isn't the thickest and the pattern may wear away sooner than I'd like, but that's just conjecture.UPDATE: After 4 months of wearing these 2-3 days a week, they're still in excellent repair. SOOO comfortable and light. I put in some boot-length elastic Lock Laces, so they slip right on and off without tying and while maintaining just the right tension. I also treated the uppers with NikWax to protect the suede and to make them more or less waterproof. A swipe of Armor All around the EDGES ONLY of the black rubber looks nice. Lots of compliments.

Very good build quality, great looking
Background I am a 6', 260lb guy who walks to and from work, roughly10-13k steps (5+miles) per day, so shoes are a big deal for me. I burn through them, and have to buy new ones every few months.Comfort is important.Appearance: These shoes are stylin'! The blue is a deep, rich blue and the white stitching really pops nicely. They come with two sets of laces (yay, spares!), one black and white, one neon green, so you can flair them up a little more if you like. Personally I stuck with the black and white.Construction: The materials are better than average. The suede is pretty thick and stiff, and the seal with the sole is nice and solid. This stiffness makes the shoes feel really solid, but can make putting them on a bit challenging without a shoehorn.Comfort: The arch support is pretty good, and you can feel it along your foot. The padding is all right but could be a little more. I would have like to have had a little more gel type shock absorption in the heel cushion, but even without it these are pretty comfortable. The stiffness I mentioned above makes for pressure points the first couple of days. No friction points (thankfully), especially since I do a heel-lock lacing, but the pressure points do make for a few days of break-in. For me the main one was right at my big toe joint, nothing that prevented me from walking, but enough that I was glad to get off my feet for a bit at work. The points have gotten much better after a few days though and I suspect they will disappear next week.Other stuff: The traction is solid. No problems on most surfaces. The water resistance is better than expected. Even 1" deep puddles and heavy rain aren't a problem and my feet stay nice and dry. I have no problems with breathability so far either, but it isn't super hot yet.I bought these on sale for $50 and feel they are completely worth it.

Great hiking shoes
A really nice pair of hiking shoes. I have used these shoes for a few hikes now. I have to say it is the best hiking shoes among all of the ones I bought in the past few years. I trekked up through San Gabriel mountains and logged some serious miles. My feet felt great without any blisters. It's a great pair of hiking shoes that not only is comfortable but also looks great. Get them now and you won't regret it.

Good bang for the buck but upgrade the insoles.
Many reviewers have said that these are a good buy for the price and I would agree. Especially since I have, in the past, purchased more expensive hiking shoes that were not as good as these. But keep in mind that these shoes are about a B+ in terms of overall quality and materials, again, still a good buy at this price point just not what I'd expect for a top of the line shoe. Here's my experience: Having read the other reviews, I purchased 1/2 a size larger than I usually wear and I think the fit for me was just about perfect. The styling is excellent. The lacing to the toe provides a nice unexpected feature, being that you can adjust the tension on your foot differently throughout the length of the shoe for extra comfort. It takes a little more time to put them on and take them off but I think it's worth it for the added comfort. About the only negative I have with this shoe is that I found the foot bed to be a little hard and lacking any cushion at all. That made my feet hurt by the end of the day. This was easily fixed though by putting in some better insoles and now I am very happy with these shoes. It seems like you have to upgrade the insoles in almost any shoes that you buy these days anyway so it was no big deal.

I loved the look but not the fit.
These shoes popped up on the "Customers also bought" list on Amazon while buying myself some more Keen shoes.I read the reviews and a lot of feed back was to buy a size larger, which I did. They arrived and here are my thoughts.Pros: Look great. Light weight. Nice Suede leather uppers. Seem well made. The "sticky sole" did seem to be as described.Cons: Even buying one size bigger was too small. These are very narrow shoes. I took out the insole, still too tight and insole seemed a bit anemic. The many lace holes looked attractive but resulted in a hard time lacing /taking off the shoes.. form over function, probably my mistake so I'd really say 3.5 stars. Only the top two lace holes are reinforced, the rest are simply holes in the leather.
